"News" Casters can think?

Now, I don't mind people getting pissed off and saying the word ♥♥♥♥ off the air, but when he starts publicly slamming concepts and ideas from which he probably has no idea where they came from, I get mildly frustrated.

What do you guys think.

Is he just a George Bush minus the linguistic impediment, or does he actually know what he is talking about?

I mean, he's good at looking like he knows what he's talking about, but I'm not convinced.

Same with Beck.

Hannity is too hard to read due to his impeccable disguise of smug douche bagery which probably hasn't been changed in quite some time.

Now Matt Lauer and Katie Couric are examples of news people that give me hope in humanity. They are fun to watch. They do not put on a mocking cherade for people who are too lazy to watch news sources that cater towards differing ideologies than their own.

I prefer Matt Lauer because he had the patience to sit through this interview.

I like Glenn Beck. But Bill is a little too much of a nut job for my taste. I've seen a lot of the same crap from other news networks (MSNBC stands out). But Bill O'Reilly really does shine as the flagship to the fleet of stupidity. At least with news casters.

I was wondering when I saw your new name. In all honestly, I can't stand Fox news period. I was forced to watch it all the time at work. Now, it's not the stuff they say and use that irritates me, even though it really should, it's the "fair and balanced" phrase I hear so often. It's their right to say what they want, whatever it is. But don't say your "fair and balanced" when it's so unbelievably obvious that you aren't. Not a Glenn Beck fan either. I haven't really been able to find a news caster that I like 100%, except for a few local ones.

O'Reilly seems to get a lot of heat over being biased, but to be fair, his is an editorial show anyway. It's meant to be opinionated.

O'reilly will defend Obama and other people on occassion so I don't see how he's not fair. Also he does tell people "You decide" so I don't really think you can make the arguement that he's all "Just listen to me and shut the **** up!" Besides it's good we have a news station that isn't treating Barack Obama like the messiah and is actually trying to point out some problems that oculd arise because of his policies.

Yeah, I know. Billo can be belligerent, and petulant, and usually unwilling to admit when he's wrong, but I really do get surprised at how often his guests are surprised by this. They know what he's like. They agreed to be on his show anyway. So they're fair game. For every time I've seen him get pwned, I've seen him pwn someone else. And although he gets heated in his debate, I haven't seen him get personal or dirty.

You know, there is no such thing as the liberal media, right? Sure, CNN and MSNBC are liberal, but the majority of the media doesn't give a damn about politics. They only want to report what will sell. The whole idea of liberal media is a half-baked neo-conservative one (lol redundancy), which basically translates into "media that disagrees with our viewpoints, and is therefore evil".

Are you kidding? When the White House became critical of Fox news CNN jumped to their defense in a heartbeat. So did a lot of other major news networks.

Although I find that too many people do seem to practically worship Obama, Fox News isn't exactly quality journalism just because they oppose him so. (Note that I don't particularly like or dislike the guy, I just hate the rock star status he's obtained, which has gotten more ridiculous probably than any president in history. *Waits to be corrected by some idiot who likes to catch people on a technicality and misses their points*)

I might be missing the point of this thread here, but I just want to say that Bill O'Reilly has been in the newscasting business for about 30 years now. Two slip-ups should be some sort of record.
