You can still have style with thrift store clothing, you know. It's called you actually make it yourself. If you're lucky, you will actually find that same designer T-shirt there that somebody else threw away because they didn't like it or it went out of style.

But here’s the thing, spending good money on good, quality clothes from brands is not much different than spending good money on, say, good video games/video game systems. You can spend less money on a cheap used game that will hold you over for a while but you’ll stop playing soon, or you can spend $60 on a good, well reviewed game that will last you. Same thing with clothes. Often I find cheap, thrifty clothing brands and stores have lesser build quality and definitely don’t look as good as good as what you can find at brand stores.

And why do you just have to get that clothing style now? Why not wait? Hell, sometimes you can find the same type of T-shirt that you saw at that brand store at the thrift store for a lot less. Your comparison also reflects the whole whorish consumerist attitude in this country, that you have to get the new thing now or forever be out of style. Also, I don't see what's the problem with buying a used video games, they do have great games that are used, so again your comparison doesn't make sense.

If you’re not into or understand style and don’t want to spend the little extra to do it, then you’re outfit will reflect that. I’m not saying you have to spend $100+ on jeans, but there’s a lot of good brands that have good jeans for 20-60

If I want to look stylish, it'll be for a formal event, and I mean formal. Not some run-of-the mill house party, but a ball, prom, wedding, interview, or whatever else. My everyday wear is just a nice looking T-shirt or a pair of pants, that's about it. If people want to judge me on my clothes, then I don't even bother talking to these people because they are shallow whores. I'll wear what I think looks good, thanks.
And who's to say that I don't like what some brands have? Hell, many of these brands actually have cool designs, its just that most of the time I don't have the money and usually get them on discount, clearance, or its given to me. I just don't swear brand loyalty to any clothing company because get this, they're just clothes. They're not making something revolutionary, just something that looks good. As long as it has a cool logo or design, I'll buy it, brand be damned.
