Start Gloating

Post pictures of you slaughtering the innocen.... huh, oops wrong thread.
Alright the point of this tread is to just tell us what awards you have, how did you get them, is there a intresting story involed. Also do you think its good to give kids a trophy/medal for just participating in something?

I myself was the fastest kid in my elementary school and so I decided to compete in a Lodi track meet, I was in fourth grade, that was open to anyone that wanted to compete. Well during the final race I look over my shoulder and there is this kid neck and neck with me and when we cross the finish line it turns into this big arguement over who one. The people with the stop watches had me clocked with a slightly better time but there where others that said the other kid crossed first. So the argument goes on for about five minutes and they gave the gold to the other kid. I was happy to at least get sliver, my dad always told me that I lost because I looked over my shoulder. I also took third in an all city Stockton track meet while in eighth grade.

I forgot I also have two gold medals from when I was taking Kenpo as a kid.

Re: Start Gloating

I've won several art awards when I was in elementary school.

In high school I won 1st place for my Original Advocacy when I was on the Speech and Debate team. Then I also won 2nd place for my Dramatic Interpretation piece.

Re: Start Gloating

I won an academic achievement award at my High School graduation. I won several other academic achievement awards back in grammar school. In 2nd grade I received a trophy for being the best soccer goalie in my league. I won another trophy in 2nd grade for being advanced when it came to math. I won 1st place in my elementary school's writing competition 3 years in a row. The first year I enter I won 3rd.

I won 2nd place in a barrel racing competition at horse-back riding camp when I was 11.

I got 4th place in an open mic competition for singing when I was 14. The funny story about that is that I did the song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" from the movie The Wizard of Oz and one of the judges had never heard it before o_o

That's all I can think of right now, I was very involved as a kid. Now I'm just a college bum who doesn't do anything special.

Re: Start Gloating

I've won a few things for art pieces (they were all large charcoal pieces)

I did alright in all conference for cross country, but never been into it enough to do much better

I was on the first - third place team for soccer from 6th - 8th in both seasons, (2 a year)

Outstanding Representation at a big Model U.N. (which is 1st for your committee and they don't compare cross-committee but my committee was a sim so I technically beat the committee that represented the opposing team)

A few things for a short story

That's all that comes to mind atm.

Re: Start Gloating

IT subject award in grade 12. But to be fair, it was like the easiest class in the school, and I'm pretty sure everyone else just took it as a filler subject. It means I'm really good at typing stuff in Microsoft Word and using Dreamweaver templates to make websites!

And man, I totally would have won this spelling bee thing we had when I was in grade 6. The teachers chose the best 20 spellers in the grade or something (haha wut) and we all had to sit in a circle in this classroom, and I think the top three got to go into the next tier of the competition, outside of the school. I was doing hell good and I could spell like every damn word they asked everyone and I was all "♥♥♥♥ man, I got this". When it was my 2nd or 3rd turn the ♥♥♥♥♥ teacher was like "okay, spell 'shot put'" and I did the whole "s-h-o-t space p-u-t" and she was like "WRONG" and I was like "HOW IS THAT WRONG". Apparently shot put has a hyphen. AS IF.

I JUST GOOGLED IT MAN THERE'S NO HYPHEN IN SHOT PUT.

Yeah so she let the other students decide and they were like "NAH MAN THAT'S SO WRONG KICK HER OUT".

♥♥♥♥.

I'M SO MAD RIGHT NOW.

Also a week later the school sign out front of the school was talking about sports or something and it said 'shot put'.

WITHOUT A HYPHEN.

Re: Start Gloating

Winning stuff, eh? Academically, I've done quite a bit. I won Debater of the Year every year in highschool, though I thought that there was another girl who was better than me. I landed 1st in English through year 11 to year 13, my final year. I got 1st in history in year 12 and 13. I got 1st in classical studies (like all that Greek/Roman gods/religion/plays stuff like that) in year 12 and 13. I got 1st in drama and art in year 11 and 12. Um. I landed Dux/Valedictorian of my highschool in my final year. At university, I graduated with honours and came first in public relations/media communication/radio. I also won a scholarship to university. Or something.

Outside of school, I came first in a writing competition based on Pacific Islanders. I wrote some poem about... erm, can't remember. I scored 1st place in some arty contest to do with cultural representation across the country. I also took singing lessons for about four years and topped that class too.

But by FAR my greatest achievement is when I played this Lotto scratchy thingie and won $25. Man, that was so sweet. I totally got me a huge freaking lunch. Greatest achievement of my life.

Ooh, Liah's greatest achievement reminded me of mine.

I went to the casino for the first time, stuck $2 in a slot machine, and came out with $40. :3

Re: Start Gloating

I won a few money matches in SSBB the other day at a tourney...

And I'm progressively getting better and placing better at them now (only done 4 so far, and I've placed better and won more matches each and every tourney I've gone to).

Uhm... I won the roll on some purples in WoW for my ungeared lock in ToC...

Yeah I'm pretty lame
