Real paranormal activity

So I know for the countries that celebrate it, this is the month of Halloween, when everybody's in the mood for a cheap thrill. Being such, I though it would be appropriate to post a thread asking you to share your paranormal experiences, or at least what you thought to be one. If you have pics or video, feel free to post it.

I can't say that I myself have ever actually run in to anything like this, but I did once photograph what I really believed to be a ghost of some sort.

I was in the Goree Islands, which is an island off the coast of Senegal (west Africa) where the European slave traders back in the day used to use as a holding cell for the newly captured slaves on their way to wherever. My uncle was taking pictures of the holding cells, and when we went back to his apartment to put them on the computer, we noticed a very shiny, almost metallic object seemingly streaking by in several of the pictures, each time in a different position. All I know is that it wasn't there when we were. Unfortunately, I do not have posession of these pictures, otherwise I would have posted.

So? You?

Re: Real paranormal activity

In the last thread like this I posted a family picture from 1969. In the back ground, in the window, there seems to be a figure that looks like a little girl. Almost see-through. Very pale.
There is no explanation. We have no clue what the hell it is. But it is prrrretty spoooky.

If I experiencing any strange noises in the middle of the night or experience feelings of dread in my basement or attic, and of course if I experience any spook specter or ghost.

I know who to call.

GHOSTBUSTERS!

Anyway, I don't believe I've had encounters with ghosts before. There have been a few times when I would randomly get a chill when the temperature was warm, but I'm sure it was nothing serious.

I also thought I saw a white, pale figure in my mirror awhile ago. Turns out it was just me. My imagination is weird sometimes. :/

Re: Real paranormal activity

I always remember the time I was changing clothes in the closet, and I heard a the most clear knocks on the wall that separate the bathroom and the closet. I was the only one present in the house, so it was definitely creepy and interesting.

Some of my family members have the most bizarre tales of their experiences with ghosts, etc, and I always like to have them around while smoking a cigarette and talking about these things.

Re: Real paranormal activity

When four of my grandparents died, four seperate occasions, years apart, I would always see their "apparition" on the monday after their funerals. Very specific circumstances, so much so that on the last time I expected it. Besides that not much. I once lived in a century old house with a really old metal grate in the hallway and every night at midnight we (my entire family) would hear footsteps starting at one end of the hall, going over the grate (loudly) and end at the end of the hallway.

Re: Real paranormal activity

Oooh, great! I have tons of personal ghost stories to tell. I am a definite believer of paranormal stuff, mostly because my old house I used to live in was most definately haunted.

I don't remember most of the experiences myself, since I was so young at the time. But my parents told me about them later on (after we moved out already).

The scariest event in my old house was that we used to hear a music box playing all the time. It would start at the most random times. The oddest thing about it was that it echoed throughout the whole house, meaning there was no way we could pinpoint where it was coming from. It was just as loud on one side of the house as it was on the other.

Perhaps even scarier than this is something that happened to my dad. I was in preschool at the time and my mom came to pick me up. So my dad was left alone with a baby we were watching for someone. The baby was sleeping at the time, and my dad was watching TV. Well, the baby woke up and started crying all of a sudden, so my dad started to get up to go check on it, but then he heard a woman's voice singing a lullaby to it! Remember, he was the only one in the house! The baby actually calmed down while the woman was signing. My dad ran into the room but, of course, nobody was there except the baby, who was now silent and peaceful. Lets just say that my father's face was pure white when me and my mom returned.

There are actually tons more I can tell, not just with my old house but in other places as well. But it would take hours to type it all up. I might make more posts later with more stories.

Re: Real paranormal activity

I, personally, don't believe in the paranormal, but I have experienced a few things that have really left me scratching my head with no viable explanation of how they happened.

For instance, at my aunt's house, there will be occasions where the house smells like rotting meat. They've searched every crevice and vent inside their house as well as beneath it and have found no reason for it to smell like that. Even more bizarre is that the smell will vanish just as suddenly as it arose.

There was also an experience I had a few months ago. I was dead asleep one night when I was woken up by what sounded like TV static, except much louder and it lasted only a fraction of a second. I know it couldn't have been me because my parents and my brothers heard it as well as our dogs. There was no real source, either; it was everywhere. To this day, I still don't know what it was.

Wow! Now that is scary!

Well I do believe in this kind of stuff, but I haven't really have an encounter with anything like it. However there was one time. It happened after my cousin's death. He was young, around his 17's and died of testicular cancer, I believe. Anyway, In the day of his funeral, when all the family was saying goodbye to him, his body started to glow; like if he had glitter all over him. And not only that but all the pictures we had of him were glowing as well. Not in a weird scary way, but like in something more heavenly and enchanting. I am not sure if this paranormal, but it sure is out of the blue.

Re: Real paranormal activity

I don't believe in the Paranormal.

There are, doubtless, things out there that we cannot currently fully explain, but I've never heard of any of them, and that is not the same thing as saying that something outside reality is somehow responsible for them.

You know, though, that actually is kind of scary, because they say that hauntings can happen in the form of scents. Good scents, such as perfume, flowers, good cooking, et cetera are said to be accompanied by benevolent spirits, but bad scents, such as the one you described, are known to suggest malevolent entities.

Hmmm, I dunno...I wouldn't want to live in that house, though.

Re: Real paranormal activity

I really don't believe in the paranormal, but at certain points in my life, there were times where I doubted my point of view.

When I was in 7th grade, there were a series of things that I saw in my stepdad's house that creeped me out. I'm prettttttty sure that they were just my eyes deceiving me, but I can't really justify that because I'm not sure about WHAT I saw.

The first instance happened once when I was walking down the steps to eat dinner. My stepdad's house had this flight of stairs that you see when you first walk in the house, and when I walked down for dinner, I saw what looked like a light, illuminated on the wall against the stairs, moving across the stairs (not going directly down the stairs, but moving against the wall horizontally. The wall turned when the stairs ended, and so did this light, which kept moving I might add, and when the light turned I could've sworn it had the form of the side of somebody's face. I didn't think about this as paranormal when I first saw it. To me, it was more of a "WOW! That light looked just like a face!". It wasn't until later events that I pondered about the paranormal.

The second instance happened sometime later when I was getting ready to go to bed. I walked into my dark bedroom and lifted the sheets up and saw something fall from the bed at a really quick glance. It looked, to me, like a small white blob, about the size of a rabbit. I looked at the ground and there was nothing there.

The third instance happened at a later time as well. I was sleeping in my bedroom and at around 5:30, I very quickly saw an illumination that lasted for a fraction of a second. It took the shape of, what looked like to me, two thick scratch marks, and right after I saw that, I heard a thump against the wall, which sounded just like the walls cracking in the winter.

The thing is, my stepdad DID have a wife before my mom who died about 6 years EXACTLY prior to these happenings. However, this is the only plausible evidence I have, nothing really spooky, just a once in a while wtf moments. I'm almost convinced that the first instance was just the refraction of headlights of a car through the window, the second instance was...my imagination, and the third instance was probably just me being tired. My stepdad's first wife was, for the most part, a caring and bright woman, and surely would not come back to haunt people, as according to my stepdad.

Yeah, the paranormal is complete horsecrap.
I do, however, love reading about it from an entertainment standpoint.

Re: Real paranormal activity

I have some pictures from when I was in the 7th or 8th grade that my best friend took. There are faint, reddish, human-shaped outlines next to the people in the pictures. But eh, it was probably just something with the flash. Darn cheapo disposable cameras. Still, it got people all worked up.

Re: Real paranormal activity

I once saw a face in my computer screen before it turned on. A few days later I was in my Dad's office at work and I saw a picture of my grandmother(she died before i was born) and realized that the face in the computer screen was her's. What's really spooky is that my computer is in the same room that she died in.

^It's called a reflection.

And no, all this paranormal mungo jungo is bs. I don't believe a lick of it. Just like I don't believe in an after life.

But then again, I have never experienced anything like that.

Still, it can all be explained somehow. People just label it "ghosts" because they have no other explanation.
