TV Tropes

Does anyone else frequent TV Tropes? If you don't know what is is, it's basically a wiki about tricks of the trade for writing media. Uhhh.... here.

So yes, just a general TV Tropes thread. Also, just for fun, let's say what character trope various ZUers are. (That was veryt poorly worded.)

For example, Silver is a jerk with a heart of gold.

When searching on TV Tropes, use the buddy system. Make sure you tell someone you'll be on the site, so when you go missing for three days, they know where to find you.

The site is seriously very addicting. It is a fantastic time waster. It is almost as maddening as the Wikipedia game.

I think I've now read enough of the pages that it's no longer addictive for me any more - I just don't make anywhere near as many tabs as someone new to the site would. My WikiWalks tend to only last a couple of pages at most.

I still preferred the trope name SuperPunkOctoPuddingGasMarkSeven over WordSaladTitle though. :/

I know. It's.... I don't know what's so addicting about it.

The most addicting site on the internet. I often go back and read pages I've read (especially the Crowning Moment ones), and always end up reading ten pages whenever linked to it. Which is why I haven't clicked on any of the links posted thus far, or else I'd forget to make dinner.

Its addicting to me because it gives me a good clue of what is portrayed in various media and it also helps me understand all the internet memes i missed in the last two years. (seeing how i didnt have a computer for a long time) TV Tropes is a good place to look when you want to know what to do or what to avoid when creating something like literature. Very informative and hilarious!

Ugh, WMG. I can't stand those pages; they're the ideas which make fanfiction terrible.

Yes, but a great deal of the time they're done for laughs.

I know of one WMG which was done for laughs. I'll go find it.

TV Tropes is God.

It's so fun, yet informative at the same time. And I like how they aren't so uppity about notability like The Other Wiki.

I find TV Tropes is also useful in improving your writing, because you've got a whole archive of fiction conventions and staples.

TV Tropes owns my soul.

I love that site since it's hilarious, and yet I hate it because whenever I go there (read: fairly often) it wastes all of my time.

The laws of anime. If there's not an article about it there, there should be.

Oh wow, I was skeptical at first, but I gave it a go, and holy ♥♥♥♥. That's some nifty stuff there.

Odd how the first result with anime in its title is about gender bending.

No a bad site at all, some moments of it are borderline the level of Encyclopedia Dramatica in terms of badness, but most of the time it's a pretty fun site to look through and almost gets everything right on the archetypes it lists and forms.

Because of TV Tropes, I can never look at Deadpool the same again (He's a Depraved Bisexual).
