To tell you the truth, I dont know anymore. At first we were talking about my desire to be a vampire and other peoples thought, but now it appears that it turn into something else. However, still on the same category: vampires.

Indeed. Like I was saying its just my personal ego to become a vampire. I don't care if I cant be one in real life. I am not saying that vampires where real in some point of history or that they did existed to some extent. I don't care what scientific evidence there is to prove that they did existed or to disprove that theory. There is a childlish personality insdie of me still, that just wants to become a vampire. Kinda like those teenage faces that we go through. Example: a middle schooler wanting to be in a gang because they think they'll look cool and that tattos, getting high, going and shooting some 304's is fun. Just a face.... Weather Vampires be real or not, there is creativity. There is imagination and there is a soul.

Ahem, people. Really, if you want to talk demons and stuff like that, make a separate thread. Now, back to vampires: I would not like to become the type of vampire in most literature. Why? Because I value my mortality. Becoming immortal would be tempting, but it would get real boring after a few centuries.

When I saw this thread, I was think "OH GOD. D8 ... DON'T MENTION TWILIGHT."

I would like to be a vampire (not the ones from Twilight) for having an immortal life, but not being able to go out in the sun would suck.

Exactly; being a vampire would be terribly incovenient, as I said earlier.

Not just because you wouldn't be able to go out in the sun, but if you were a "cool" vampire (And not the bull♥♥♥♥ Twilight kind), you would have all sorts of angry villagers carrying torches and pitchforks, vampire hunters, and other weirdos waiting outside the doors to your castle every night ready to drive a stake through your heart.

It just isn't worth it.

Vampirism, until very, very recently, was depicted uniformly as a curse. You have an insatiable hunger for the blood of others. Until recently this meant you had to kill a person at least once a week (if not every night) in order to stay "alive". Further, you frequently have no control over this hunger, and can kill those closest to you if your self control slipped for even a second (not that you'd care, they were, after all, just meat.)

You also destroyed your soul or condemned it to hell, neither of which is good.

Finally, you also lost the ability to relate in any way to living humans.

Not particularly fun.

Vampires were pretty much zombies at first, weren't they? (Or was it the other way around...?)

Yep, the original vampires were essentially zombies.

Then the folklore just kinda exploded all over the place, and there were thousands of ways one could defeat a vampire and thousands of signs to recognize one. Then along came Bella Lugosi and his portrayal of Dracula, leading to the modern idea of what a vampire is.
