Right, and that's where 'personal opinion' comes into it; I don't believe in that aspect of mythology - silver to a Lycanthrope, a cross to a Demon; such ideas seem pretty silly to me. So a vampire to you is just an otherwise normal person who sucks blood?

No; I consider such abilities (namely speed, strength, etc) as described to be potentially real. Not so the weaknesses described. They don't seem at all realistic. Why should a bullet of silver be any more or less effective than an ordinary bullet to a Lycanthrope? Why should water blessed by a priest have any effect whatsoever on a Vampire, or a Demon? Why should running water have any effect on the Undead? (Oh, JSYK, to me that term typically means 'Zombies'; I don't agree with the inclusion of Vampires in this term.)

They serve no other purpose than to ease the mind of the beholder. *shrugs*

uh, that's like saying you don't believe Frodo Baggins was a Hobbit, or you don't believe elves have pointed ears. They're fiction, so whoever writes them gets to decide. You don't get to decide that, you weren't the first person to com up with the idea. Sure, you can make your vampires different if you want to (we all know that's what Twilight did) but that doesn't make them any more real. The most "real" vampire is whatever is closest to the original.

"undead" is a term referring to any creature that is dead, but also animate. A corpse or skeleton that is somehow alive and moving. Vampires, or at least the real and original vampires, are living corpses.

Either way. If it doesn't make sense or it does, does it even matter? It truly doesn't changes my wish to become a vampire. But any way you do have a point and I respect everyone's opinion. But of course I am talking about any kind of vampire. Really its all about human imagination and creativity. Not the fact that there is no evidence to prove such existence and that such terms don't even make sense.

True and like I said before Its all about human creativity and imagination. If we prove that vampires are real or not, it doesn't even matter. What matters is the stories that now gives us some kind of entertainment and excitement. What matters is that we have a wild imagination that makes our lives more exited. I mean why do you think that people created all those stories about vampires, the undead, werewolves and about other creatures of the dark? Surely to get some entertaiment in their lives.

The stats that being a vampire increases are: Vampire Stats, Strength, Speed, Willpower, Sneak, Mysticism, Illusion, Hand to Hand, Destruction, Athletics, Acrobatics, and Resist Normal Weapons. Depending on which stage of the vampire you are in, you will get from 5 to 20 points in each of these stats (25% vampire = 5 points; 25% vampire = base vampire, fully fed). Other special stats or skills get added depending on the vampire level. Vampire Skills that are always present are: Hunter's Sight (Nighteye and Detect Life), Resist Disease 100%, and Resist Paralysis 100%.

Actually, the term is mythology, not fiction. So, it's really not the same thing at all. As for 'my' Vampires, I just believe what I think would be more realistic; I never said that's what Vampires were. If you choose to believe otherwise I'm not going to stop you.

Right, but mythology is only 'based on truth', the keyword here being 'based'. It's open to interpretation. Besides, there's so much mythology concerning the subject that it's almost impossible to discern what can be considered lore and what is not.

Right, and I'm fully aware of what reanimate means (), but Werewolves are classified as undead, yet they aren't reanimated at all. Oh, and, JSYK, I know you said about it applying to 'the real and original vampires', but I still have to point out that Vampires aren't at all required to be reanimated, in the same ways that Werewolves aren't. Lycanthropy and Vampirism are also considered blood-based infections or virus'. The extent to which you could call it a "virus" again depends on what you personally believe, though, be it cellular mutation or gene-variation, etc etc. *shrugs*

The idea of psychic vampires is an interesting subject but also pretty mundane. I mean, really, anyone can do that if they knew how. There are people out there that feel they need to consume blood. That is real. Those people exist. Are they undead? No. Can they do really cool stuff like run real fast and whatever? lol no. Are they barking mad? Some are, yes. Some people do it as a sexual fetish. Its more common than one would realize.

Yes, that would really be cool and way better yet. This is truly a clear example of what human creativity does. I believe that what ever crazy wish we have is some kind of art. Really, some kind of entertainment and fun for us. Whether is made up, fake, or unrealistic or as real as possible it doesnt matter as long as we are contempt with it.
