Most of those people aren't idiots. In fact quite a few of them are really smart. They're just misled, or too open-minded to things for the most part. They don't just start spouting things at or out of nothing, like you'd like to believe. There are reasons these people believe what they believe, beyond mental illness or paranoia, so unless you actually know what they're about kindly stop speaking.

Hence my comment about your ignorance. Now that we've come full circle, I think we should focus back on the topic at hand, rather than go any further off-topic and make the moddies have to come out of their treefort with their water balloons.

Re: Six Year Old Boy Drifts Off In Balloon.

Back on topic. I got home early for an orthodontist appointment(yay braces off in a month) and my dad had this on the news(we are local, it started here so our news channel had it first). I was like,"what the ef, theres a kid in the balloon?" Then they started talking about how the kid would pass out and die from all the helium. Then I thought to myself that there was no way he was in the balloon. Low and behold hes hiding in a box at home. No way his brother would let him float off in a balloon.

Re: Six Year Old Boy Drifts Off In Balloon.

That was so sad! When I first heard about it, all I knew was he was in a balloon. I though maybe he was some boyscout earning a merit badge for balloon flight or something. But when i heard the full news, I was shocked! Poor thing, his parents were crying!

Yes yes yes, I think conspiracy theorists are full of crap, therefore I'm ignorant. Good point, I can now go back to my blissful ignorance of believing that terrorists were responsible for 9/11, that the face on mars is just a land formation, and that we actually did land on the moon (damn those mythbusters!), and continue to ignore the truth of the men in tin foil hats. When will I learn!

I think you took my original comment abit too seriously when you jumped in to defend the conspiracy theorists. I was simply making light of the situation of the government chasing down a UFO shaped object which they suspected had a kid in it. Since alot of UFO conspiracy theories start off like that, I figured it would be worthy of an lol or two. But I do thank you for reinforcing my belief that conspiracy theorists bat **** crazy.

I know its off topic, but this discussion is pretty much dead anyways.

When I first read the title it made me laugh a little. But it' more serious then that I guess. Kinda reminds me of that guy that lifted off thousands of feet in the air in the 80s with a just his lawn chair and a bunch of balloons tied to it.

Looks like the publicity stunt idea has some merit.

Wow.

If that's true...what an attention-seeking family.

Yeah it was messed up. Only a bit funny because it sounds like something out of a cartoon or animated movies. You don't hear news like this everyday.

The kid is fine, he's not hurt.

So why the hell is the news going on and on about him?

None of which I said. Go ahead and think they are wrong. For most cases, I think they are and the few I don't, I quite frankly don't care one way or another what the outcome actually is.

Allow me to be clear, I am not a conspiracy theorist. I don't give a crap about what they believe. I do, however, care about my fellow man, and when some arrogant little **** like you looks down upon some other human being simply because you think you're better than them, yes, I am going to react. You are no better than anyone else. You could be the smartest or richest man in the world, but when it comes down to it you're made of the same stuff as everyone else. You've no right to be on some high horse thinking lowly of others for some superficial reason.

Dude, WTF are you talking about?

I made a joke, referring to the typical conspiracy theorist fodder about the government chasing down a UFO shaped object. I did not say anything derogatory about anybody and I did not say I was better than anybody else.

Chill the **** out!

And frankly, the only one who has said anything derogatory about anybody else, was you referring to me as "ignorant", and "some arrogant little ****". So instead of falling to your level and calling you a few choice names, Im just going to say take a joke or GTFO!
