Users you've never heard of saying hi and friend requesting you.

Seriously, wtf? I don't care if you just want to make friends, that's weird. AND creepy. And that's my job.

Yes, it's annoying. Not much we can do, though.

I don't find it annoying, but complementary unless they did it because you visited your page.

I would be okay with it if it were members who had been around for more than a day, or members who lost their passwords or something, but as it is the only plausible reason for it is so that they can boast about their friend count.

Same thing just happened to me last night. I got to vms and 2 friend requests. On of them was pretty cool person and I accepted after talking with her for a bit. The other one was just a guy commenting about my avy so I ignored it.

I actually had a girl who I only saw on the bus ONCE, add me to Facebook. Of course I accepted, but it was funny.

I prefer when the person talks with me via VMs before sending me a FR. Really, why does he/she want to be my friend, when he/she doesn't know me at all? >˛<

I'm assuming you randomly and annoyingly sent Jason a request after only posting 30 times and without knowing him.

I think it can be silly, but nothing wrong with it.
On Facebook, though, you can get some real creepers.

When it happens, I feel like they stalk me. Be it in real life or on forums.

I don't care. They're noobs. They make three posts and leave. Might as well be nice to them while they're here.

I add members to my fwendship list whether they like or not! ^_^

I usually accept them and keep them for about a week.

I don't mind it. People send me VMs usually because of my avatars, sigs, or username (which usually have to do with music). So then we start talking about music. It's not like accepting a friend request here means much. I keep in touch with the people I want to, regardless if they're on that list or not.

I thought about inviting as many people as I possibly could from all over the world. Just to see how many would accept it.

Many, many somebodies do that

Nobody knows anybody until someone introduces themselves. Therefore I don't see what's so creepy about a stranger saying hello.

I agree with Evilsbane. It's this world where everyone seems to see outgoing friendliness as a bad thing.

Personally, I love when people randomly add me or talk to me. Who wouldn't want to make friends?
