Re: Is it wrong for men to cry?

In my eyes, no it is not wrong for a man to cry. It is just wrong for a man to admit that he cries.

Not only women cry, Men cry too...
we all have feelings like sadness and rage, why should releasing your pain be only applied to women? that's senseless.

No, if he asked me that I would ask it back.

If anything, sticking to the maxim "real men don't cry" is being weak, because then you're letting societal/cultural stereotypes dictate how you should act, rather than being yourself.
I agree.
There is nothing wrong with men crying.

Re: Is it wrong for men to cry?

Of course it's okay for someone, man or woman, to cry if they are upset be it in public or private. If you have a legitimate reason to be upset, you shouldn't feel as if expressing those feelings is against the rules. I cry quite a bit, it really helps me vent frustration and sadness when necessary. We shouldn't be pressuring guys to hold in their emotions just because being emotional isn't "manly".

I don't think it's wrong to cry if you're a man, it shows that you have a side of you that says "I'm not machismo".

(Time to contribute...)
I think the main focus is not that a guy cries in general, but what he cries about.

Some people are cryers, some aren't, some are only on certain occasions. One is not more manly no matter the situation (that includes those who cry). Basically, it's no more manly to cry when the situation calls for it than it is to not cry. Same with the inverse.

Only half. I was only addressing this part:

Quote:
it's Manly to cry when the situation calls for it
which is wrong. It's not manly no matter if you do or don't cry. It's nothing. Crying is one action in which manliness can not and should not be taken into.

Re: Is it wrong for men to cry?

Here's one thing that really bugs me when people cry: when they cry about a non serious relationship at school. This guy went out with a girl for 2 weeks and she dumped him, and I saw him crying in class. I just react in a negative way because I don't think that is something to really cry about, especially during classes.

Whenever I see a girl in the same but opposite situation, I am bugged by it but it seems fine. Why? Women are naturally more emotional about these things (call me whatever you want, this is how I see it) and whenever a man cries I don't feel like I want to comfort them (and no one else does either), while whenever a girl is crying I feel like I want to comfort them (and usually other guys and girls do).

That's just me though.
