I didn't mind it, but it was a little boring.

Re: Triforce quest: Is it really THAT bad?

I pretty much dropped this game when I had 2 shards left. It's too frustrating. I will probably go back to playing it though, since the frustration is going down, and I really like Toon Link, I just don't like PH. So I'll probably finish the game this summer, or during the week I have days off from school for exams.

But, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, so it's not fair to say WTF to them. =/

I enjoyed it, except for paying Tingle.

Re: Triforce quest: Is it really THAT bad?

I liked the Triforce quest. It gave the overworld a real purpose. If there is one complaint I have about TP's overworld is that, large as it was, there was nothing to do there. In TWW, on the other hand, the individual islands played a part in the story, which is part of what makes TWW, in my opinion, the most original Zelda game.

It's not the exploration that I loathe about it, but the fact that to decipher a chart is somewhere in the neighborhood of about 398 rupees.

Re: Triforce quest: Is it really THAT bad?

not so much, I think if it had been as simple as pulling up the 8 shards instead of finding maps paying to have them translated and then finally getting all 8 pieces it would have been too short, I guess I'm looking for a happy medium.

Re: Triforce quest: Is it really THAT bad?

I actually liked exploring the caves for the maps. I just didn't like having to go back to Tingle for every single map to be translated.

So I just saved up enough cash and got all the maps and got it done in one go.

Re: Triforce quest: Is it really THAT bad?

it was alright i guess. but forced exploration is not exploration just searching. how ever all of the areas you had to search were cool. i didnt like having to pay so much for the maps to be translated because even with the 5000 rupee wallet you still had to fill it up a couple times. it just seemed to me like it was wasting time. stalling. when i was ready to get back to some serious game play. i think they could have subbed it for another dungeon or something. idk.

Re: Triforce quest: Is it really THAT bad?

Brilliant idea, skipping the maps the second time through. Saves a heck of a lot of trouble, and would make finding Triforce shards easier and fun. I'll do that next time, curse Tingle....

Re: Triforce quest: Is it really THAT bad?

I thought it was pretty fun. I explored some islands while searching for the Triforce shards. I just didn't like paying Tingle to get the maps decoded. :[

I thought it was okay because you got to explore the islands you wouldn't ever visit without it unless, like me, you would want to do that.

Re: Triforce quest: Is it really THAT bad?

I don't think it was bad, only a VERY long an expensive quest. The first time I played the game it was fine, but to persons like me (who likes to beat the Zelda games over an over again from the begining) it's a little boring when you get there.

Re: Triforce quest: Is it really THAT bad?

I don't mind it. It's kind of annoying just because of all of the crap you have to do and all of the rupees you have to spend, but it's an extra quest (can't be bad) and is a different way to get the Triforce than any other game.

Re: Triforce quest: Is it really THAT bad?

I didn't and still don't think the Triforce Quest is necessary. I even have the Windwaker guide and it's still a pain. And the other part of it is, if you don't have a big enough wallet, your screwed until you can find a fairy that'll give you one. You have to pay Tingle over 3,000 over the course of time you find the Triforce Charts.
