Post Do you use the GameCube or the Classic controller on the VC games?

Well, I'm currently playing A Link to the Past on the VC, and I think it works pretty good with a GameCube one. And, I don't even want the Classic Controller.

Well, did you get the Classic one when you downloaded a game to VC, or if you had a GameCube controller before, do you still use it, but on the VC?
Or did you have another solution?
Tell it here.

Uh I don't have a classic controller so I just use GCN controller. I didn't know that you could get a classic controller for those games, cool!

EDIT: Woot, 1,000 posts!

I don't have any VC games yet (because my Wii doesn't have internet on it yet), but when I do get some, I'll be using my classic controller. I use it for Brawl, and I'm used to it, so why change?

I use the Classic Controller because they're wireless and I don't have a Wavebird.

I use a classic controller on the VC. But the GC controllers are still nearby because I need them for the Collectors Edition disc that fits conveniently into the Wii.

I like using the classic controller. It makes me feel more like I was using a controller from the SNES or some other old console, hence the name classic controller.

The gamecube controller in my opinion is only good for Brawl.

Its a tie between the both, because there are some games on the SNES/NES that make gameplay difficult on the gamecube controller. Thats why its good to have a classic controller. I try to use it often as possible though because it reminds me of a super nintendo controller...one of my all time favorite controllers

Why buy a Classic controller when you can use a GameCube controller or the Wii remote on its side. It's a waste of money.

I only have the first two Sonic games on the Virtual Console, but I use the Wii remote on its side.

Because the GameCube controller works awful for SNES/N64 games.

What? The Gamecube controller works brilliantly with N64 games.
I do agree about SNES games, or any 2D based system for that matter, though. The Gamecube controller has the worst D-pad ever made.

Seeing as OoT and MM were ported to the GameCube, I doubt it's awful for N64 games. However, you may or may not have a point with SNES games. Like I said, I only have the first two Sonic games and they were for the Sega Genesis, so the Wii remote on its side works fine. That probably won't work for SNES games, I don't know what they would use for the X and Y buttons. The GameCubes D-pad looks like it would be a pain for the SNES games, like Stuit said.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that.

I use the Classic Controller wherever I get the chance. I use it on VC games, Brawl and Mario Kart Wii. I love it.

I guess the classic controller is alright for Brawl, but I still prefer the GC controller over it. I think it's because I am used to it because of Melee.

I don't own a Classic Controller so I use all my gamecube controllers. GC had the BEST controller and I'm so glad you're still able to use it on Wii games. I would like to try a classic controller though someday.

I just downloaded LoZ and i use the wii remote sideways. Mostly because when i push left on a GC controller Link goes to the right... Strange stuff going on =P

(It's awesome as far as i know!)

I use the classic because something like Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World are impossible with cube because A and B are backwards from the controller I'm used to useing to play those games (SNES)
