I hope they revert to the old system.

Honestly, so do I. It may not have been perfect, but I think it was better than the TP one.

Re: TP treasure chests: Yay or Nay

Umm... hello... did you all ignore my idea? The old system sucked. The new system is annoying. Take what's good about both of them and make a new system. Rupees stay there, but now you know that they are rupees, so you won't get annoyed by opening the same chest over and over. Also, give the option to...

Keep as much as you can hold, and toss the rest.
Keep as much as you can hold, and put the rest back.
Put all of it back.

That would be perfect.

Re: TP treasure chests: Yay or Nay

THat would work well, but then there are people like me who like to have every chest in a temple opened before they finish it. Every time I'm about to finish a temple, I stand infront of the boss door and pull up my map making sure that I have opened every chest. Seeing one on there I haven't opened drives me insane.

Re: TP treasure chests: Yay or Nay

The TP rupee chest system is annoying to say the least. Like most of you I have an obsessive compulsive need to open every single last chest in Zelda games. The second time I played through the game I was sure to have an empty wallet before I went in any dungeon. The best solution is probably an amalgam of ideas already suggested.

1-Only put back rupees in chests that have 50 or higher. Anything smaller just gets opened regardless of whether you can carry it or not. I don't think anyone is gonna lose sleep over the loss of 20 rupees.

2-Even if you are just 1 rupee shy of your max, give the option to take the rupees in the chest anyway even at the loss of the rest of the rupees. If you are full, it just puts it back. Even if your wallet is not full you get the option to leave the rupee inside (for 50 or higher).

3-In dungeons where you have already opened a chest and decided to leave the rupees inside, the chest will have a small rupee icon over it on the map showing what kind of rupee was inside. This feature would only be available after you get the compass.

Re: TP treasure chests: Yay or Nay

I think its actually a pretty good idea cause what if you needed that money later and it wasn't there? that would suck more.

I think it could've been a good idea, but they executed it wrong.

Re: TP treasure chests: Yay or Nay

I'm also kinda obsessed with opening every chest in the dungeons, so after I got the Magic Armour, any time I found a chest with too many rupees in it, I put the armour on and waited til it was low enough to be full again. I found it worked well enough to open every chest. Before the armour, I just went into the dungeon with a lot less rupees.
P.S. I'm a bit of a perfectionist.
