Liked: Writing, plot overall, graphics, new characters, locations, and side quests. I especially loved the City in the Sky.

Disliked: Bosses were too easy for my tastes. Some of the characters felt bland and simply there to take up space within the plot. Omg, I hated hated hated the Lakebed Temple. And that's about it.

Midna
Collecting tears became repetitive

I see that a lot of you liked the plot but I just didn't like it at all. The writers seemed like they tried really hard for something enticing and new but it just didn't work for a Zelda game.....my opinion.

I liked everything about this game except for the bosses. They were rediculously easy and dissapointing. Although I do have to say that I did like Stallord, he had the same music from when you fought King Dodongo and Volvagia in his second form, which is one of my favorite Zelda songs.
But the real dissapointment came when I fought Ganaondorf for the final time, that fight, the one all fans have been waiting for.... sucked. Plus, Ganondorf looked an idiot when he died, his mouth was horribly rendered.

biggest Pros: graphics, music, fighting style, large map, cave of ordeals, hyrule field enemies, epic battles

biggest Cons: useless rupee chests, unconnected parts of the map, lack of sidequests, excessive sci-fi, kakariko being a Western-style town, the oocca

- some music, too dark
- some characters bland, like those in the bar
- repetitive tear collecting
- lack of playable songs, howling was.. bah.
- just a tad too dark, but nothing major

-Progression system was the exact same as other Zelda's (base 3 dungeons, story twist, more dungeons, end)
-Story wasn't all that awesome (It was basically the story of other Zelda games like A Link to the Past or Ocarina of Time with a twist)
-Most of the music doesn't stick to the mind

I liked everything in the game. Everything.

What I didn't like about it was that it was missing something that the Ocarina of Time had. Something that makes me like the Ocarina of Time more. I stilll can't figure out what it is.

Greatest Likes: The bosses (yes, they were easy, but still enjoyable), the huge map, graphics, Link's design, the fighting style, the plot... and more.

Biggest Dislikes: Kakariko Village (though not bad for originality), the constant collecting of Tears of Light, and definitely the howling.

Ya the howling kinda sounded weird. It sounded like a wolf on crack singing kareoke.

I liked:

The art style
plot was decent
the length, lots of dungeons
combat on horseback, but not enough
monster with character delevopment, King Bulbin
dark caves to explore with lamp. but not enough of them only 2
fishing

I hated:
the easy difficulty, zelda vets can breeze through it
the twilight, it sealed off most of Hyrule makeing the game feel linear
the size of Hyrule, I wanted Hyrule field as big and vast as the great sea.
more minigames and sidequests, Castle Town was pretty much empty space

The quests for the Tears of Light. I especially hated the Lanayru one, the Twilight Bugs in Zora's Domain were so hard to get. :/

Also, only about 1/5 of the people in Castle Town talked to you. I mean, yeah, that's more realistic, people don't just talk to anyone in real life, but it's also annoying.

  • too many bizarre elements. The ten-year-old Agitha pretends she's a queen over insects and gives you wallet upgrades and money as a reward for completing her quests. There was no build-up in her character that would pressure her to give money-related gift, so I thought that was dumb. There was no Shooting Gallery, even when it would have worked perfectly in one of the several towns in Twilight Princess, Wii Remote aiming, and quiver upgrades. Instead, they gave those away as the prize of a game that doesn't even relate to Link's bow. They could have even had horseback archery since Epona was in the game. The character models were also bizarre. The Goron Elders and Zoras look like crap, and the only two new races that they could come up with are the Oocca and Twili, which, in my opinion, suck.
  • Ganondorf didn't have to be in the game

I find it kind of ironic that one of the recurring things people post under "dislikes" is the fact that it's similar to OoT. First of all, I fail to see how that could be a bad thing...and furthermore, people tend to overlook all of the things in TP that really set it apart from it's fellow big-zelda title brethren. I could go on about this, but I think I'll just stick to listing my likes and dislikes...

Likes
-Beautiful art direction
-The sheer size of the game
-Epic boss battles
-Nostalgia factor
-Hidden skills
-Midna
-Dungeons (though, like some of the other folks here, I can't say I enjoyed the Lakebed temple a great deal...)
-More cinematic flair than previous Zelda titles
-Link, while still morbidly mute, somehow seems to possess more personality in this game than any other
-Ability to transform into a wolf
-The eerie particle effects and distorted colors found in the twilight realm
-Interesting story (in my opinion)
-Great music (I loved the dramatic Hyrule field theme, the song that played when night fell, and many more...and let's not overlook the inclusion of many old classics. )

Dislikes
-About the aforementioned epic boss battles...while they were indeed epic, they were more often than not annoyingly easy. I'm not one of those gamers that demands a hardcore challenge, and while I find TP to be a perfect balance in overall difficulty and presentation (one that appeals to the casual crowd drawn in by the Wii, and yet still gives veteran Zelda players something to sink their teeth into), this is one aspect I think they could have worked on a little bit. Not a huge complaint, though.
-Collecting tears of light (I don't mind the first two as much as the third, in Lake Hylia...it's just annoying when they're spread apart like that...)
-While it wasn't a constant annoyance throughout, after hearing what Nintendo can pull off with Orchestrated Music in Super Mario Galaxy, I found the lack of orchestrated music in TP rather disheartening. Hopefully, the next Wii Zelda will include fully orchestrated music...
-Zelda "fans" who piss and moan about TP's relatively tame difficulty and about how the series is slowly growing "stale", even when TP stands as a testament to Nintendo's continued efforts to keep the Zelda series remarkable in all regards while introducing new content (was the inclusion of a variety of hidden skills, the ability to turn into a wolf which has the ability to utilize it's senses to find items and secrets, new items, old items redesigned to feel new again, new, immersive controls with the Wii version, and a plethora of side quests ranging from an in-depth fishing game, snowboarding against a yeti, and much more, not enough?)

Phew...that's all.

The art was gorgeous, like some say, but I think it was a little too dark and realistic for a Zelda game, even with the whole Twilight theme and everything. I like the lighter, brighter, more cartoony games better. The plot was terrible, the characters were all rather forced (except Midna, who was barely, and I mean barely, decent), collecting Tears of Light got old fast, and the bosses were too easy to figure out and deal with. I like most of the secret moves, however; the Mortal Draw was my fave. Epona was okay, and I sorta like the double hookshot idea but that seemed a little too Spider Man for me to really like it. Uhh....I'll stop there, but I could go on...

It's no secret to most people that TP is one of my favorite games "overall" in the series, of course I give certain aspects nods to other games (Seriouslly, TP competes hard with Majora's Mask and ALTTP for my top spot).

Like:

- Art work/graphical direction (remember, this a cube game ported to the Wii. The cube version blows every game before it out of the water visually with it's style)
- Plot/Story this was finally a story with more substence then "save Zelda". In fact, I will go as far as to say this was a story completely about Midna, but obviously you (Link) is the reason everything turns out right.
- Midna is simply the most unique and simply the best "sidekick" in any Zelda game.
- Wolf form
- Initial epic feel of the boss fights.
- All the new items (Spinner, ball and chain, bomb arrows, double hookshot, etc.)
- Dungeon design
- Soundtrack/Music
- Sub Plots
- Characters that actuall interract with you (I know, several complain that some don't, but next to Majora's Mask, no other Zelda game can really stake claim to doing it really that much better then TP)
- Zant
- That Ganondorf was in the game as a puppet master of sorts (seriously, I am glad he was in it. It really brought a very interesting backstory, and life, to the character of Zant. It only sucks because it means that Zant most likely wont be making any returns to the franchise.)
- Horseback combat

Dislike:

- Easy boss fights. They were still epic in nature and in feel, but the end result was dulled a bit by just how easy it was. Still, the first time fighting each boss, even Ganondorf, felt amazingly awesome. Second playthrough... not so much. Boss's should get more challenging as the game progresses.
- Linear path - although I must note, it's something you just come to accept playing a Zelda game.
- Uh... not enough horseback combat?
