hot spring water

At the south end of castle town there is a barier of rocks and a goron. How do you get the hot spring water for him to drink

You must talk to the elder outside the shop in Kakariko and accept his challenge. Carry the barrel all the way across Hyrule field without dropping it (watch out for enemies) and toss it at the Goron. He'll move and start his shop in Hyrule Market and leave you a heart piece!
