Question about Majora's Mask event ( GC version specific )

I just read the article "The girl with the red hair", that speaks of Link and Malon/Marin and their parallel's relationship with Link ( The Girl with the Red Hair - Zelda Universe ). Very well written, I say kudos to the author. Anyways, it mentions a special event and says "do you have your n64 version of majora's mask?" Sadly I do not. So I was wondering, if anyone knows if this event can be triggered in the Gamecube remake of Majora's Mask, (The special promotion disk that you had to register 2 other gamecube games to get, it has Zeldas 1,2, and Majora's Mask there might be more but I'm sick and don't feel like looking right now) for I'd like to try triggering this event myself. Thank you in advance.

Well, Majora's Mask for the Collector's Edition is an exact port from the N65 so it would have that thing in it.

Re: Question about Majora's Mask event ( GC version specific )

Actually, I've spent a goodly amount of time on my Collector's edition, and have not been able to trigger the scene despite several no misses on protecting the milk. I wonder if they removed it.

eBay. Amazon. GameStop. some shop somewhere will have a copy--just a matter of finding it. I think eBay is your best bet.

Re: Question about Majora's Mask event ( GC version specific )

True true. I just came back from one of those game shops that sell a bunch of old games as well as new, wasn't there . Ebay it is. I used to work at GameStop last year. One time someone called in and asked if we sold N64 games, and my co-workers started laughing, so that's out. And Amazon, I always forget about that site thanks ^_^.

Re: Question about Majora's Mask event ( GC version specific )

I read the article, it's a nice one. But he says:

"Well, do you still have your Nintendo 64 and copy of Majora's Mask?"

He doesn't say you need the N64 version, he's asking if you have the game. The article was written in March 2003, the Collector's Edition wasn't out until November 2003, and so, no other versions existed. The scene you want should be in your game too.

I love that scene...

Re: Question about Majora's Mask event ( GC version specific )

i just reread the MM part in that article and I remember that the first time i ever played MM that that scene does happen! I thought i had imagined it, and now here it is!

well, be that as it may, i am, and i hesitate to say it here, a proud sageshipper. I think Malon may have a huge crush on Link, even going so far as to loving him, but i prefer ZeLink.

it could just be that, because Link has never felt the warm embrace of a loving hug from an older, parental type figure that he gets those warm-fuzzy feelings. it is a sweet scene, though.

Ya, I noticed the time myself after writing this, but I figured that they might have changed it, and gliderpilotgirl said

thus confirming that you need the N64 version. Thanks for the input though ^_^.

Re: Question about Majora's Mask event ( GC version specific )

come to think of it, ive never been able to trigger that scene either in the Collector's Edition for GCN. Wonder how you trigger it at all, even on n64.

I just did it now on the N64 version. I guess they could've taken it out of the Collector's Edition.

Re: Question about Majora's Mask event ( GC version specific )

Hold on, Is this the scene where Cremia Hugs Links and he Likes it? If so, yes I have seen it on my Colletors Editon MM but I only saw the scene after I had already gotten the Milk Bar mask. I'm not sure if this matters but my CE is PAL region.

Re: Question about Majora's Mask event ( GC version specific )

It can't be triggered without having Romani's Mask at all, it's an alternate reward for Link succeeding. ( The others are 100 and 200 Rupees I think )

PAL? what's that? ( I checked, the back of my copy has Nintendo of Canada's address on it so I'd assume it's North America region-wise )

Re: Question about Majora's Mask event ( GC version specific )

I used to do the quest over a lot in my N64 game, I like hugs. And, I can't be perfectly sure, but I think I've gotten at least one hug on my Collector's Edition. Mine's PAL too.

PAL region means Europe and Australia.

Re: Question about Majora's Mask event ( GC version specific )

^Hmm, I think were seeing a pattern now. Maybe they took out of the North American region.

Re: Question about Majora's Mask event ( GC version specific )

I wouldn't be suprised if it was removed in North America for a very specific reason...if people are taking it as Trahald did ( romantic ) it would be most definately be pedophilic. I never thought much of it as Cremia is in love with Kafei ( it's fact, backed up by Romani and Anju and her mother ) and Link's a lonely boy far from home who got thanked in an affectionate way...but a similar thing happened with Nabooru's text in OoT. It was supposedly changed in translation from the original Japanese for a similar reason if this is it.

Re: Question about Majora's Mask event ( GC version specific )

Personaly that ain't a good reason to take out such a good scene in the series. I mean that's one of the only times you see what Link felt like and it was funny as well.
