Why does everyone like WW so much?

i think its the worst zelda ever made! people cant decide which is better ww or tp--sorry it shouldnt even b a hard choice. well i guess if i was 7 yrs old i would choose ww--but as an adult how can any1 choose ww over tp

I think why so many people like Wind Waker is that it was alot diffrent than any other Zelda game, even more diffrent than Majora's Mask. Instead of the usual land, instead you ride in the water and go to tons of diffrent islands. Besides that it's very fun to explore around. You never know what you might find next when your sailing out in the sea. Also if your judging Wind Waker by it's graphics, then I have one thing to say to you: That's a terrible way to judge a video game! The cartoonish look gave Link great expressions even if it does look a bit like a cartoon Zelda game.

Agreed.

I liked tww. It was deep and fun, despite being short and annoying at times. (ie the sailing)

Now THIS is an example of a noob's topic. I remember creating one like this back when I was a noob here, but hey, I've learned my lesson.

TC, you should be more open-minded about other people's opinions. The world doesn't revolve around your opinions, you know? Some people actually like the cel-shaded graphics, the ocean theme and the light-hearted story, so you should really stop acting like everyone must have the same opinion as you.

Anyways, you really sound like a graphics whore. Really. So what if Nintendo chose cel-shaded graphics for this game? So what if this game has some cartoony gimmicks in it? It's still fun to play, and it has a great plot. Graphics don't matter much in my opinion. Just because a game looks pretty, it doesn't mean it's fun to play. Just check out Lair. It's very pretty and realistic, but has horrible gameplay.

So please, if you wanna complain about people liking WW too much, just keep it to yourself instead of posting it here. It just annoys people.

I love TWW so much. And I also love the graphics.

Here's my macro

From the wonderful and catchy music to the beautiful and awe inspiring graphics, the game is nearly perfect.

The sense of exploration and freedom is absolutely wonderful and it is a very fresh take on the classic Zelda formula.

The story and all of the characters are so human, from Link's Grandmother worrying about him and Aryll, and Link's reactions to strange happenings and all of his expressions...

Ganondorf was fully fleshed out, he wasn't just plain evil. He had his own motives and personality, and I actually felt somewhat bad for him...it's truly amazing, and the overall amount of in the game detail is stunning.

The sword fighting was incredibly fun and it worked very well. And the controls are great. I swear the GameCube controller was made JUST for this game. I have never played another game that used the GCN controller half as well as TWW did.

I loved the sense of exploration and freedom the Great Sea gave, and the dungeons were very fun and creative at times.

Also, as I mentioned above, the graphics are crisp, colorful and stunningly beautiful. In my opinion, the nicest graphics in any Zelda game and some of the nicest graphics ever!

I loved the music in the game so much, it's so fitting, majestic and beautiful.

The game is my second favorite Zelda and fourth favorite game ever

Since the game plays like the other 3d Zelda games I am forced to assume that you dislike the graphics so I will comment on that.

I really enjoy cel-shaded graphics. It looks so much smoother than the realistic graphics do. When you view the realistic graphics you can tell the flaws differentiating it from the real world, but with cel-shaded graphics it's not meant to look real - it looks a lot less flawed. I hope this makes sense to atleast one other person

I agree entirely, when a game attempts to be realistic people will forever pick fault where a shadow should be sharper, or you can't see every leaf on a tree, it forever comes under comparison with the real world, with WW's graphics they were nothing like reality, therefore couldn't be seen like this, so they look a damn site better.

You have to consider these things from a design point of view. And who puts WW over TP? thats just stupid.

Consider yourself lucky. I only had 3 hours of school today, and am in a good mood. I hate it when people bash WW just because of it's graphics. With your thinking, your probably not gonna buy Brawl because the graphics are "cartoony".

WW is the best Zelda i have played. And it's the best looking game in history, both technically and artistically. There's no game that looks nearly as good as WW. Comparing it to TP would be unfair, since WW makes TP look like dog poop.

I remember when Wind Waker first came out, and the majority of people were dissing on the graphics. Oh how times have changed haha.

I always liked the visual style from the start, though.

I thought it was a very endearing game. My kids enjoyed it immensely...even my six year old daughter. It was a breath of fresh air, and I fully enjoyed it from beginning to end. It was unlike any Zelda I had ever played, and that was what made it so great.

Plus, the Miniblins made such a satisfying "snap" when you hit them with the master sword!

OK, don't diss Wind Waker. I'ts one of the most fun Zelda games I've played. Though I like Twilight Princess more, Wind Waker is my hand-down second favourite. maybe people like it just because it's that good. But, that's just my opinion.

While I still didn't like Wind Waker all that much (the storyline just bugged the hell out of me; everyone's so...stupid!), I think that if someone wants to put forward their opinion, they should at least back it up rather than just flame it and call it childish. And if they want to be taken even remotely seriously, use proper English. He claims he's an adult, perhaps he should act like one, eh?

Now, personally, I think this thread should be left to die.

My mom prefers WW over TP any day. She got mad when I lost it a few days ago.
