What if Link had Hidden Skills in Wolf Form?

Wouldn't it be awesome if Link starts to adapt the Hidden Skills in his Wolf Form as you slowly learn each of them?

When Link's in Wolf Form, and finishes off a Poe, he jumps in the air and rips out the Poe's soul. I consider that as Link's Ending Blow.

What would it look like if you performed the Hidden Skills as a Wolf?

I imagine the Mortal Draw would be where Wolf Link jumps on top of the enemy, bites the enemy on the shoulder (or somewhere close to the head), then jumps off the enemy as it falls to the ground.

Well, you do get the equivilent of the ending blow against poes, and Midna's energy field is like a better version of mortal draw.

I think it would be good if Wolf Link had more attacks, but I believe the makers just want the wolf to be like the Goron and Zora masks of MM.

Wolf Link has a few abilities, like sensing for seeing places to dig, and just seeing in the dark in general. He's also got the one hit kill attack he does with Midna. That, along with the fact that he's faster than Hylian Link in general, is enough for me personally.

And what do the masks do?

Goron: Pounds ground and rolls.
Zora: Swims quickly, launches fins, and puts up electric barrier.
Wolf: Uses senses to see hidden things, and see in dark. Uses a combo with Midna to instakill enemies. Runs quickly, and can attack at any time. Also has more maneuverability than Goron.

Goron Link can only damage enemies while rolling if he's rolling at top speed/consuming magic.

Goron: 2 points
Zora: 3 points
Wolf 3 points.

How are they noncomparable again?

Edit: Well, Goron Link can resist lava, and Zora Link can breathe underwater. Wolf Link can see in the dark.

Re: What if Link had Hidden Skills in Wolf Form?

Ending Blow - He already has it
Shield Attack - He could ram them with the side of his body
Back Slice - I can't think of anything interesting...
Helm Splitter - Jumps up and bites head
Mortal Draw - Lunges forward and bites them in the stomach for insta-KO
Jump Strike - Midna's feild attack
Great Spin - Durr...

Re: What if Link had Hidden Skills in Wolf Form?

I was thinking more of 'Slobber strike', 'Fatal growl' etc.

I personally think that Wolf form's finishing blows would be too similar to each other to be worth bothering with, Midna's field attack and the finishing blow are enough.

Re: What if Link had Hidden Skills in Wolf Form?

hidden skills would definitely make an improvement to the wolf, but i think that it shouldn't be in close relation with human links skills.

Re: What if Link had Hidden Skills in Wolf Form?

I think that the Ending Blow would have been very useful for fighting regular enemies in Wolf form. All too often I found myself waiting for an enemy to get up after attacking and being unable to kill it. But I don't think Nintendo would've wanted to depict Wolf Link ripping everyone's hearts out, even if it was a T-rated game. They could have handled it like they handled the Poes, though.

I think they should have a hidden skill where he uses his claws to rip an enemy in half.

Exactly, Daphnes. Wolf Link can also dig to uncover switches to pull and dig up treasure like hearts and rupees. He can also lock his teeth onto an enemy and keep biting when you keep pressing the A button. Oh, and he howls songs, and without that, you couldn't get normal Link's Hidden Skills.

I do agree that a set of unique hidden skills for Wolf Link would be interesting. I would've liked to see him do more with his claws, his tail, and his teeth.

Re: What if Link had Hidden Skills in Wolf Form?

I think having more added to the Wolf in the story would have made TP much better in peoples' eyes. Maybe a sidequest for a special move, or something. I just felt it was underused. I still used it a lot, of course, because I'm more used to fast combat rather than the hard-block, slice/dice of Link's human form, but it should have had more use later in the game. It was a key concept of TP, was it not?

Re: What if Link had Hidden Skills in Wolf Form?

Oh, oh, now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout! Wolf Link is my favourite character, but it's poinless to use him in battle unless you're fighting Twilight Messangers or a Poe. But, if he had some hidden skill, it would be so much more fun!
