Magic bar in TP

Look at this picture from the official zelda site of nintendo.

How is this? And if I didn't find my magic bar where is it.

Re: Magic bar in TP

Looks like a magic bar to me, maby Nintendo desided to switch to a more realistic gameplay after making this Screen Shot.

Thats from the beta game. They took it out later, along with a Goron Golem. man that would've been cool to fight.

Like has been said, this was a relatively early version of the game before it was put out on GC. I for one, did not miss the magic bar in the TP we have today.

Re: Magic bar in TP

There's a magic bar on the Wii box. Magic really wouldn't have served much of a purpose anyway.

Re: Magic bar in TP

Thereīs no magic bar because there arenīt much items that can use it.

The lantern uses oil.
The boomerang has a spirit (the dumbest thing ever, if the game had a lot of "spirit weapons" and they had to do with the plot, it would be cool, but only one is dumb)
Zelda uses the light arrows.
The magic armour uses rupees.

Can anyone think what more could have used magic?

Re: Magic bar in TP

Actually they changed it at the last minute and didn't have time to change the things that affected the Magic bar, like the creation of Green Chus. They just made it so Green Chus don't give you anything. The GameCube version doesn't have Green Chus. Also, they changed the way Skulltullas fight. They used to trap Link in a silk cacoon, but now they just fight Link. I actually think the original style of fighting for Skulltullas would be more interesting.

The goron golem was acctually in the field where you heard goats in Ordon Villiage. There is a video on youtube (somewhere) where you see the Goron Golem and some other rock thing right outside links house.

There you go,

Re: Magic bar in TP

It's possible that it isn't actually a magic bar, but they perhaps originally wanted to put a limit on how long Link could continue using his wolf senses, and created a bar for that, but decided against it afterwards. Or something like that.

sounds logical, other than the fact that there are screenshots of human Link with the exact same bar (ones even on the back of the case the disc came in [at least the Wii version anyway])

Re: Magic bar in TP

Dude, that's not cool. I wish that they actually featured a Magic Bar. That just wasn't right to take it out. But to advertise it! Now that's just sick!

Re: Magic bar in TP

could have planned on implementing stuff that required the magic meter, or make certain already in-game items require it, but later decided against these.
