Re: Wii or Gamecube TP?
I only have it for the Wii and played it for the Wii. But still I would prefer the Wii version over the gamecube. Moving the Wii remote as the sword, bow, clawshot, ball and chain, and the rest., is fun.

Re: Wii or Gamecube TP?
Agree with whomever above said that the GameCube controls are much easier to parse than the Wii's. Pulling off headshots are slightly more accurate on the Wii port of the game, and the fishing's practically custom-made for the nunchuck, but mastering items like the Gale Boomarang are damn near impossible on the Wii version, especially during sequences like the carriage escort-mission.
That, and -- quite simply -- I prefer the GCN build over the Wii version for one simple reason: Historical canonicity. The Gerudo Desert to the west of Lake Hylia, decaying Old Kakariko to the east, et cetera. Map consistency (if one can even *use* that term with a straight face in context with a Zelda game anymore) is a big mitigating factor, here. And I own a plasma-screen HDTV capable of 1080p resolution, but having seen the Wii port, I'm not that terribly impressed with the 16:9 progressive-scan enhancement...there's a very, very small, almost unnoticeable upboost conversion, but its imperceptible to all but the most anal home-theater-buff types. Don't get me wrong, if it's a somewhat-different gameplay experience you're looking for, the Wii version serves it up, but the GCN version more than competes with it and holds its own on practically every single meaningful level. You're not missing out on much if you only buy the 'Cube build. And you're getting the more canonical version of the game, to boot.

It was certainly doable, but they had a multiple-times-delayed release date to make, and they didn't want to welsh on it again by painstakingly changing around the Link-character code by itself. From what I recall reading, Aonuma and Miyamoto were both keen on having the Wii port being a perfect replica of the GameCube map, but this wasn't to be.

Re: Wii or Gamecube TP?
Haven't there been like......over nine thousand threads similar to this?
Anyways, I think the Wii Versions much better than the GC version. When I played through Twilight Princess for the very first time, the controls were a huge part of the fun. There were times when I'd just do spin attacks randomly, just cause they were fun to do! The thing I adored the most about the controls, though, is the aiming. It was so darn easy to aim, with stable controls and a very precise cursor. Definately better than the GC version in my opinion.

Re: Wii or Gamecube TP?
The Wii because not only is it the only tolerable title from that system so far, it was nice to break from the control formula that OoT set.
