Talking TP help guide or not?

Im wondering wether on twilight pricess used the help guide or not because pretty much everyone ive spoke to has used one. what do you think about them?

I personally think that they are a waste of £52 because youve bought zelda and just ruined it. i mean was it really that harder game?

Re: TP help guide or not?

Twilight Princess is way to easy, let alone being stuck for days needing a guide.

Re: TP help guide or not?

I needed one to get the last two Poe Souls. I never played the file I needed them on, either. I started a new file and used help when necassary (sp?), but then I accidentaly (sp?) saved the new file onto the really big one.

Re: TP help guide or not?

Heck, I needed one to find the Cave of Ordeals. Didn't help very much though.
Spoiler (Highlight to read):
It was out of sheer frustration that I warped back to that spot in the southern desert, ready to fling myself off of the nearest edge, when I saw stairs where the peice of Eldin bridge used to be...

Yeah. Total brain flatulation.

Re: TP help guide or not?

I can't condone the kind of behaviour where a person reads the guide before even trying the part of the game that it relates to. But to pass off guides as some kind of game ruining monster is a little much.

In my younger days, I did not have the mental capacity to even attempt OoT without a guide. So I used a guide, and the enjoyed the game very much regardless.

But luckily, I did not need a guide for any part of TP.

I use the guide for the side quests mainly, or if I'm stumped on a puzzle, like the one in the Sacred Grove.

Re: TP help guide or not?

i have never had help from a guide and i don't plan on using one ever. it just takes away the full value of the game and those of you who have i feel sorry for because you just ultimately ruined the full value of your game which you can't take back. i completely disapprove with people who needed a guide to finish any Zelda game.

Well I don't think you need a guide for TP, it's very easy as it is. In fact, I don't like using guides regardless of the game being hard or not. Difficulty is part of what makes a game better, so I better not spoil it

Yes but if you've brought it whats stopping you from using it for the rest of the game? Do you every time you get stuck just go and get a guide? Or do you try the challenge first? I mean if your completly and utterly stuck then i guess you could go out and grab a guide but if you have just brought the game and you buy the guide at the same time it is basically a big waste of time.

Do not buy the guide. I made it through the whole game with this guide. Granted, there were some parts to TP that were kind of easy to do, such as the Temple of Time (at least for me). But what I like about that guide is they show videos of everything. If you need help on a very specific part of a temple or whatever, you can pretty much find there. Plus, it's free!

Re: TP help guide or not?

Unless you are someone who has never completed a Zelda game, I say it's not really compulsory the game isn't even that hard. It's one of the easiest games in the series.

Re: TP help guide or not?

I purchased a guide basically for the fact that I collect anything Zelda

I flicked through it and read some of it but haven't really given it too much attention.

Besides who cares if people get one, I don't think its that big a deal

Plus you get a free poster with it

Re: TP help guide or not?

I only used a guide twice on TP, and have put one or two questions in the help thread here. It's very cowardly to use one too often... :-P Didn't know you could buy an actual guide book? Where can you get it?

Re: TP help guide or not?

I would always make sure I tried everything I could possibly think of. IT wasnt until I would find myself firing bomb arrows into random areas did I even check a guide.

I did use one at the Lakebed temple... only because I could not find the first key... the whole stair thing was annoying the hell out of me lol.

Funny enough I succeeded in the Lakebed temple without any guide book. I wonder how I did it.

Re: TP help guide or not?

I dont understand why people use guides for games, it totally ruins the fun out of them.

Re: TP help guide or not?

That was the only part I used it on. I just could not find the key. I probably still dont know where it was... but way to long since I beat Lakebed... like 5 months.
