The Great Deku Tree in TP
Not too long ago on this forum, someone asked what happened to the great Deku tree, since their is no sight of it anywhere around Ordon or in the Lost Woods. Well, I believe I have found the Deku Tree. It practically looms over the forest, actually. How can I see it? Go to the ancient amphitheater near Castle Town that overlooks Lake Hyrule. At the back of the amphithaeter stage is a wall with many windows. Near the middle of this fall is a open section that was once a window. From here you can see the lake, the desert, the southern Hyrule field, and the forests of Ordon. At the center of the forest line is one clump of tree branches that reach far higher and brauder than any other surrounding tree. I believe this to be the Great Deku Tree that was once the small sapling in OoT. What do you think?

Re: The Great Deku Tree in TP
OMG! There is no deku tree in the game. It has absolutely nothing to do with the story so why would it be there? If you are searching for the tree then why not look for jabu jabu or some other non-existant character in this game.
"Not too long ago" there have been threads about this practically everyday since the game was released. |

Re: The Great Deku Tree in TP
I KNOW YOU CAN"T GO TO IT! I am merely pointing out that it is representative of the Great Deku Tree. It's not something you can visit, instead it's just to show that you are in th same world as you were in OoT. Of course it's not part of the story, just asthetic appeal. Sheesh, I'm not one of those weirdos who goes looking for stupid things like that, or Jabu-Jabu. It is only an observation. And besides, have you actually gone and looked at it? Don't be so quick to pass judgements or accusations Cloaked Mystery, or very soon others will be doing the same to you.

Re: The Great Deku Tree in TP
But I am a cloaked mystery.....why pass judgements on what they don't know? (lol j/k)
I have looked around a bit when I first heard about this theory but I remain unconvinced. This is clearly just a cluster of tall trees none of which are the deku tree. If you want to believe that it is then that's ok. This is more a faith based thing than actual concrete fact. |

Re: The Great Deku Tree in TP
No, the great deku tree lies within Hyrule, it just has no purpose in the game, it does not need to talk to anyone, and it simple lazes around while link saves hyrule.
The large tree that prince of hyrule was talking about is also the forest temple, which is also the ancient deku tree, probably the late deku tree showcased in OoT (moustache ya dig), his insides have been hollowed out and he has become a temple. the newer deku tree is somewhere in the faron woods, still growing, not yet tall enough to actually be seen.

Re: The Great Deku Tree in TP
The deku tree in TP can't possibly be the one in TP.
There sizes are too different considering the deku tree died and couldn't grow anymore. I think perhaps the sapling from OoT became the forest temple but i very much doubt it because it didn't talk, or have a face and looked dead. |

Re: The Great Deku Tree in TP
There is no tree..the only reason is because the Kokiri have seculded themselves ever since the events in Ocarina of Time. Hence why they turn into the wierd koroks of Wind Waker. If the kokiri and deku tree were in the game...then it would ruin the idea that the kokiri evolved into the koroks of WW.

Quote:
Much all of TP is actually OoT hyrule, just different scales and re-imaginings. Like, the tree in lake hylia, the large tree that resides over the lanayru temple, is actually the lone tree in lake hylia in TP, just a new concept, new growth, etc. etc.

Re: The Great Deku Tree in TP
New growth? lol the forest temple is a tree that we can't even see the base of. It could go on for miles and the deku-tree was as big as 12 links in OoT.
This is not mere remodeling. It is simply not the deku tree or the sapling. |

Re: The Great Deku Tree in TP
People won't agree unless the image looks exactly like they did in Oot. They don't understand that graphic styles have gotten a lot better than they were in the days of the Nintendo 64. Vacumgod has a really good point...it's too bad some people just don't want to listen...

Re: The Great Deku Tree in TP
Yeah it was...but it's currently growing in TP, that's why it's hidden.

Re: The Great Deku Tree in TP
Sigh... how many here have actually gone and looked at what I said th olook at from where I sad to look at it? You can't see a face anyway. The desighn has changed, which is why it's not the same as in OoT, or in WW for that matter, because it is a differentgame. Go look at the tree line from the amphitheater. The Deku Tree is a symbol of the forest so it's not surprising they put it in there for asthetic appeal.

no, it is mere remodeling, if it wasn't, then the hyrule we see in TP is a totally different hyrule than showcased in OoT, the land has shifted, rose, and fell, etc etc. Some of the differences can be a consequence of time, other differences fall upon the creative interestes of the development team.
