Which Zelda SHOULD have come first after spectacular OOT? WW or TP

Now that we've seen both, are you happy that Wind Waker beat TP, or do you think Twilight Princess should have been the first Zelda to come out after Ocarina of Time?

Although WW was a brilliant game, I firmly believe TP should have been the first to arrive after OOT because after playing OOT, I wanted more Zelda than you could possibly image. Then when I heard there WAS to be a new one to arrive, I was thrilled!! However, I was not so thrilled after I took the first glimpse of the trailer in a GAME shop nearby. I had so much hype over OOT, I was expecting another realistic type version of Zelda not a cartoon! And the whole sea sailing thing, it just didn't feel too right after the superiorly epic and (at the time) realistic OOT.

It just hit me the other day, that if TP had arrived at the time instead, I think it would have felt even more spectacular than it does now. WW took away the OOT tradition somehow, but TP would have enforced it AND, to be logical, TP is the story continued from OOT so would it make sense anyway??!

What do you think? Are you happy with the way it turned out, or do you think you would have been more thrilled to see TP for the first time after OOT with WW still to come?

I'm glad wind waker came first cause it's still my favorite zelda game to date, I like it more than TP.

See but thats the thing, would u have said that about TP if THAT had come out first? You would have played WW with OOT's 'charm' still pretty much in tact, but after completing WW that OOT novelty would have worn slightly...

Nah I would still like WW better even it TP came first. I loved the style and graphics of WW more than TP OoT and MM. I think OoT is a great game and all but I've always felt WW was just plain amazing and nothing could change that. TP is good I just think WW is better.

I loved the graphic style of TWW, and the whole game was a boatload (ha do you get it?!) of fun.. The sailing just made it so tedious.

If sailing in TWW didn't annoy me so much it could have been my favorite Zelda game, but because of the sailing I have problems even getting up the want to play it again.

If TWW was going to exsist at all it had to happen BEFORE TP.. because now that TP exsists TWW would have been a step backwards for the franchise. I'm glad both games exsist and came out when they did, they're both great games.

Definitely Twilight Princess because it is the best Zelda game EVER to be created!!!!

If Thw wind waker wouldnt of come out first alot of some things would be missing im not sure exactly what but they had taken ideas from alot of the games and i would tell the wind waker was one of em.

yes I do think that they should have made TP come out first and everyone would have loved it. then tWW would come out and the story would just continue and some people would like these graphics and some wouldn't

I wish Nintendo skipped the Gamecube all together.
Think about it, if Nintendo released the Wii against the PS2 and Xbox, it would of been pretty amazing. Because if you really think about it, Wii is last generation.

It would of been better to release Twilight Princess when WW came out, no one would of complained about the Text/Graphics or the music. Most likely would of been 10/10 everywhere like OoT.

If they released WW on the Wii, it would of been better. Wind Waker - Wii-Mote anyone?
If they added more dunegons and some more islands, WW would of been a much bigger hit.

^ In terms of graphics.. yeah, Wii is "outdated" in comparison. So I agree with you, Wii should've been released instead of GC. Unfortunately, I don't think Iwata was in charge back then.

I also agree with V99 about WW coming later.. but at the same time, it's nice that WW came first so we get a break from the OoT-style overworld and dungeons.

WInd waker, because people would be even more dissapointed about windwaker if an amazeing game like TP came before it, not that i dont think Wind Waker is great

Actually, both WW AND TP follow after the events of MM and OoT. Personally, I LOVED WW and at the ending, no joke, I cried. I don't cry ever. It was just that damn good. I honestly think the look of it wasn't bad at all and was almost like a chibby comedy feel to relax the player a bit before the next realistic adventure (Sorta like that funny drughead who dances like an idiot and gets thrown out of the movies during the intermission!).

I prefer it the way Nintendo gave it but the serious storyline of the game that lead to the DESTRUCTION of Hyrule would have been much better if they made it a realistic game like OoT. They should have just made the epic Four Swords after OoT to give it that fun intermission feeling and then make a realistic WW and TP.

I haven't finished TP yet but the game is wonderful. But Wind Waker was awsome a peaceful. I loved the end, I cried like crap! I couldn't stop!!! WW should have come out first...even though it did. If TP came out first, I would be pretty darn confused. I mean, one minute, Eponas small and looks like a racehorse. Then shes HUGE and large and is a ranching horse. So, Im pretty glad WW came out first. Its wonderful and I love it.

what a close poll. Widwaker supposedly takes place 100+ years after OOt and it just fit in. TP definitely wouldnt have been good after Oot. 2 hit zelda games kind of dumps water on the zelda fuse, exhausting it of its fantastic story

I don't think it was a big deal. All the freakin' OOT elitists need to get over themselves. OOT was good, but it was good because it redefined the series. It turned Zelda into a whole new thing, and now the only Zelda game people ever want is another OOT, no matter how it's played. TP was good enough for me, and MM was even better.

I think the story of Twilight Princess holds more onto Ocarina of Time than the Windwaker but well talking about the game, I personally was dissapointed after I finished the Windwaker, I don't know why but I just didn't like the game... I found it aproppiate for my 10 year old brother but I wanted more adventure.

I'm happy with the desicion that they made because the dissapointment windwaker brought to me is being forgiven with the Twilight Princess muahahaha.
