TP Useless Rupees
Once you've bought everything, in any game, subsequent found currency is rather useless except for replaying certain games just for fun. I have noticed, though, that there seems to be an unusually high number of rupee chests in Twilight princess. Ridiculously more than needed to finish the game.
Am I just being nit-picky?

Re: TP Useless Rupees
Games aren't really meant to be played after you've beaten them, because there's not much point. You get all those extra rupees because you have no more need for them because you've already beaten everything. It makes perfect sense.
I'm not sure why they put so many chests in, though. The rupees could never fit in my wallet anyway... ![]() |

Re: TP Useless Rupees
LOL
the dungeon chests always end up unopened when i play. I guess if i want to fully beat the game, i got to go back and get all the rupees in the chests. ARGGG

Magic armor...still, waste of money, sort of. My problem was, like many other's before, that when I had big rupee bag (600) I always had too many rupees. Then I found that malo mart charity thingy and suddenly I needed so much money I rummaged trough every damn 100 rupee chest I managed to find. Suddenly world seemed much more poor... It was frustrating, though, that in every temple I left behind many chests because my baggy was full. Then I got stuck couple of times and checking the map got pretty confused - how the heck was I supposed to find that key chest when there were dozens of money chests everywhere that I possibly already had opened. Aanyway, my point being is that I think that at some point of the game you get botheringly much rupees from wherever you go to (sheesh it saddens me how much rupees were just wasted because of my bag being full when visiting Agitha's castle with bunch of new bugs) but then again in the end, they're sometimes even hard to find, at least big amounts of money. Little rupees are being picked up of course, from every enemy and bushes and such.

Re: TP Useless Rupees
Yeah, me too. In TWW, there was tonnnnns of side-quests to use rupees. The only one I can think of for TP is the canoe game... which really isn't a side-quest anyway, but you use rupees.

Re: TP Useless Rupees
Yeah I found myself putting a lot of orange rupees back into chests, but then when I got the magic armour, rupees became scarce again! Over all I thought it was fairly balanced. Much more-so than wind waker with it's 4,000 rupee wallet!

Re: TP Useless Rupees
"you found a purple rupee, thats 50 rupees! but it wont fit in your wallet, so you put it back" IF THIS WERE REAL AND I WERE LINK, ID PUT THE RUPEE IN MY HAT OR SUMTHIN!
btw, the magic armor barely lasts 5 minutes or so even with 1000 rupees... (i like doing the cutscenes while wearing the magic armor(the ganondorf cutscenes) they look cooler that way i think) |

Re: TP Useless Rupees
I can appreciate what the designers were doing when they allowed you to put large rupee amounts back that wouldn't fit in your wallet. I mean, how many of us when playing OOT or MM would find a silver rupee or an orange rupee when we already had a maxed wallet and watch it disappear into nothingess?
The problem this creates, however in TP is that the chests containing those rupees remain "unopened" on your map screen even after you've opened them. This creates confusion as to whether you actually found that chest or not later on in the game. The programmers could have fixed it where the chests you have opened with rupees still inside would change color on your map, or they would show a rupee icon on them...once you opened them, that is.

Re: TP Useless Rupees
Shadow Naruto: I didn't mean heart pieces, just hearts that you get from cutting grass or something. Just say you are in a boss fight with no faeries or potions and there are no hearts left in the room and you are down to 2 or something, then you change your rupees into health using this item. The item would yield very low hearts for the amount of rupees though.

Re: TP Useless Rupees
Rupees are the only way you can obtain bombs.. unless you find a chest full of 'em. I actually think that instead of having so many chests full of rupees, Nintendo should have increased the number of heart pieces needed for an extra heart to 6 or 7. I mean Nintendo has decreased the nuber of random rupees a lot. It took me 3 whole minutes to scrape up 10 rupees.
You know what, we should go back to using rupees the way we did back in LoZ as arrows, and you should be able to buy keys for 80 coins. |
