Thoughts on TP(gc)

First off I have to say that getting this game was a hastle. I walked into EB, and after not seeing it by thier gamecube section i wearily asked the cashier "Do you have TP for GC in?" he gave me a wierd look and asked my name.

Seeing where he was going i responded, "Uh, i didnt reserve it." He stared at me for like 2 seconds and said oddly fast, "We only got like 6 copies in and over 30 people reserved it." same thing happened at 2 other videogame stores i tried.

Thinking i would never get the game, i started thinking of ways to obtain this 'exclusive' title. Then it hit me.. WALMART has gots to have it!!! and guess what, they had like 7 copies just sitting there in the case. WHEW! finally have it after almost 9 years of waiting for another realistic zelda! (and it sure is effin realistic. u dont need next gen graphics, TP is where its at. its all u need)

now for my thoughts on it...

Ive been playing Zelda since the NES, aLttP being my favorite game of ALL TIME, and this one is my 3rd fav, being alttp/oot/tp.

The opening isnt that good. But whatever. While i was waiting for it to load i got a pop and came back, BAM! theres link.. but what is he wearing..? looks like something from FF. nevertheless the game certainly feels like a zelda game, and without even touching the controller i had the same feeling i got with all the other zelda games...

Im only to the part where i have to save the zora prince, and this game is good. Yeah it might not be as hard as the others but it sure does have the puzzles to make up for it. Ive even had to look up walkthroughs...once..i NEVER do that, NEVER.

Im not really following the story that well though.. theres way too many characters in the begining to remember. while playing at one point i stopped and asked myself, why am i doing this? maybe its because i stayed up like forever playing it and my attention span was low.. idk. but remembering names seems alot harder than previous titles.

Also the weapon menu is jacked. a circle??? Dpad up? i still press start on accident sometimes when i need an item.

The Map is huge. way bigger than i expected, but the layout is kinda wierd. trails connect everything and sometimes it takes time to get from one place to another. Also the way the world looks, the towns.. idk theres something thats not right. OOT was very distinctive and original.. I mean dont get me wrong, the game looks great and i wouldnt change anything its just that kakariko kinda pinches a nerve. its SOOO bland.

Dark world is really cool. Probably my favorite part in any game ever. the sense button is rad as hell. i love looking at different things to see how they change color when i use sense.

I like to look at things in videogames. If there isnt a free camera it takes away so much from the game. in TP theres like a semi free camera, you can go left n right, but not up and down, you know what i mean? u can zoom in n out though.

Well so far i really like this game and i want to see how it progresses. so far i havnt seen many refernces to other zelda games though, or how TP falls into the timeline. but i havnt finished it yet either. 8/10 compared to other zelda games.

p.s. whats with the name? i would feel embarassed asking for this game if it didnt say ZELDA on it. i shoulda been called, Twilight wolf or something
oh and any zelda game where link is right handed on purpose is uncalled for (im talking to you, wii)

You should write a review when you have fully finished the game. Your aspects of the game might change.

Pretty stupid asking questions when you havn't finished the game. Or unless you want to get spoiled. The game gets better...ALOT better. But slides a little towards the end. You'll enjoy it none the less.
