The Second Shard. How?
The second shard. In the temple of time. Makes alot of sense, right? Nope. I find that it doesn't make any sense at all. Zant, kind of Twlight, broke the Mirror of Twilight into shards after he invaded Hyrule with twilight, right? How can a shard of the mirror be in the Temple of Time, long before Zant invaded Hyrule? Notice that the Temple of Time, when you go back, is OoT-style.
Even though Zant controls the twilight, he isn't able to go back in time for more than several decades. And don't say that he went back the same way Link did. Zant doesn't have the master sword.

Re: The Second Shard. How?
What if the Temple of Time in, and of itself, is infact a time-shared area? If it resembles the OoT version, could it be that it is the OoT version (although, obviously different since they had to make it a dungeon). Its name does imply that it's the shrine of time, basically. If that were the case, all Zant would have to do is walk into the area and be in the presence of the Temple of Time's ... time.
Then again, maybe the shards broke and flew (not placed) into random spots. That one just happened to fly into the ToT?

Re: The Second Shard. How?
first off it's magic
secondly link doesn't need the master sword to enter the ToT one can assume anyone who can reach the door can open it.

Re: The Second Shard. How?
Sadly i must agree with Dr Zaius1 lmao
Zant can teleport so he could teleport to the boss chamber and put it there. and how did he get that other piece all the way to the city in the sky? lol this is just a question that won't be answered like.... How did the mailman get his hat? Where did Tingle learn to make maps? Who was ganondorf's second cousin? What did the happy mask man have to do to get all his masks? |

Re: The Second Shard. How?
I don't think that the inside of the temple of time is *actually* the past, just that by the power of the master sword, the Temple as it originally stood has been preserved in it's own little 'realm.' But it's a good point, if the master sword is the only way to access that realm, how did Zant get in?
LOL, I just remembered how Ooccoo would run into the temple ahead of you as you opened the way.

But in answer to the main question: It's magic. The Twilight Mirror obviously has some type of immense magical blah blah blah, which is obviously what makes it so special. Should there really be any doubt that, being a door between two dimensions, it just might be able to do something else that breaks the laws of physics?

Re: The Second Shard. How?
Or Zant could simply be timeless.
Think about it, if we presume that you go into the past when you enter ToT, then perhaps also zant could go back in time to lay the mirror shard there. After all he possess some pretty strong magic (like in the fight against him where he transport you to all these places you have been before) |
