Ok supreme cheeseyness found*spoilers most likely*

There has probbly been a thread like this but I looked and couldnt find one...

In TP I just revived the third spirit and brought light to the lanaru province. The spirit starts to tell a story. then you get transported to a dark place with Illia standing right with you shes holding a knife. then these magic mage guys in hoods start to defend the triforce then link starts to see a million Illias.

that is the most cheesyest thing Ive seen since the CDI games.

What was the point of that video? I saw none.
where did she get that knife?
Why was link drawn to it if he has the triforce of courage?
(you can use this thread to post other cheesey things in TP because I have found atleast one hundred)

I think it was to signify that everyone, no matter how pure of heart they may be, would be drawn to the Triforce (Link goes for it), and that they'd be willing to betray the ones they care about to get it (Ilia pulls a knife on Link, and he kills her). The Triforce's absolute power would corrupt any who desired it (Dark Link x3). I'm at a dead end over the multi-Ilia part, but I'm sure it's relevant.

Maybe Link seeing all those Ilias falling signifys he wants her, as the triforce can offer him what he desires most... This came off the top of my head so forgive me if it sounds stupid.

I agree with Pandaemonium's theory. I thought of something like that too. The scene wasn't actually happening. It was more of a visuel story, the Light spirit told. It doesn't change TP's plot or something.

I loved the scene though, it kinda reminded me of LotR's ring.

I love that cutscene. From its music to its message and how you get to see an evil version of Link (I liked that little laugh he gave away when he turned into one of the three Dark Links). It was also cool in some way to see him scream hysterically and then look possessed until he fell down.

Me too. It's probably my favourite in the entire game (the one after finally beating the Moblin Chief comes a close second), though it left me expecting to fight Dark Link at some point. Apart from that slight disappointment, it's a great cutscene with a very apt message.

Well yeah, I thought that was weird. had another thread in Twilight Princess Spoilers that explains that weird cut-scene.

did noone read the actual text that went along with that cutscene?
seriously...
the dark links are the mages who used an evil power to defy the goddesses
link was killed by one so that the mage could take his form
then the goddesses kill the mages.
it was the story of the tribe that was banished to the Twilight and became the Twili.

I bet your right.

It was all just symbolism to represent the story that the spirit was telling. It was trippy dream sequence, haven't seen one of those since Majora's Mask.

I think it's a warning, that Link would be haunted by the consequenses; killing the ones close to him. It looked like a "can't get you out of my head, stop haunting me" kind of scene. The part when you see lots of Illia's, that is.

I loved that scene. It's very thought provoking even though it is obviously a warning to Link so that the fused shadow doesn't consume him. Sort of like how Majora's Mask consumed Skullkid. However, I would need to see it again to start disecting each part and find their messages and values. (Media Studies skill FTW)

i found the western shoot out part cheesy but funny. at least it was fun.

I couldnt agree more, however I would say lovers against each other.

but still thats what I think it means.

I think I would be a little more inclined to think it's a "cheesy" scene if it actually was happening, which it did not. It was more like a kind of a kind of bad dream or a vision with a bunch of metaphors about the power of the triforce and betrayal and such. Which I don't think was elaborated enough later on, so it might seem kind of random.

I think all the Illias were upside down (correct me if Im wrong) is there meaning in that?
