Twilight's Look

Okay, so everyone knows this is old news, the Twilight Realm was changed from the Black and White look to the Blury look AGES ago. However, does anyone besides me think that the Grayscale look was MUCH better? I mean, the Blury Twilight that was in the final version is cool and all, but I feel the Grayscale has a more 'Taken Over' feel. That, and it looks easier to navigate then the Blury one was.

Re: Twilight's Look

The black and white was cheap, lame and so very dull. The brand new look for the Twilight is amazing. I was really impressed how it looked. To me, it well and truly looked taken over. Don't you remember what the Twilight Looked like we you were in the Light world looking at the Twilight? That looked taken over to me. Also I don't think it's really "blurry". It's just high contrast and some nice bloom lighting.

Nintendo made the right choice.

Re: Twilight's Look

I don't think the grayscale version really fit the concept of "Twilight."

Twilight is between light and dark, not dark or light.

I loved the "blurry" Twilight... It seems more malevolent and more pleasing to the eyes, The lighting is very impressive too

Blurry twilight is much better, its better on the eyes, and the dramatic effect of the twilight is much better when things are to be seen in motion and all blurred.

Re: Twilight's Look

Yes I have to say looking back on the trailer, the black and white world did look incredibly dull, and yet it wasn't without its charm either. But in the end, I think Nintendo made the right choice style wise. If Midna had called the black and white realm "beautiful" I don't think I would have believed her.

It's nice, yes...but it doesn't feel better on my eyes, feels a bit like staring at bright yellow text in a white background. I like the Twilight in Hyrule, though. The music that comes with it fits it.

Re: Twilight's Look

Color is always more interesting. But everything was still so dark-- I kept adjusting my TV settings, but it wouldn't look right.

Everything being slightly blurry was okay. I think when you're not using 2D sprites, it's about the only way to make a dark world look... dark... evil... that sort of thing.

I preferred the yellowish feel. Besides what other people (who liked it) said, the change stops people from thinking it's the same stuff that froze Hyrule in The Wind Waker.

Re: Twilight's Look

I do perfer the dusk-like Twilight over the monochrome Twilight, though the dusk-like didn't seem very... Ominous. Also, it seems too bright to be "twilight". It basically looks like perpetual sunset with a bunch of twirling black squares flying out of the ground. The monochrome seemed more ominous but lacked originality and really didn't qualify as "twilight". What I think they should have done was make the Twilight a bit darker and not so glaring bright.

Re: Twilight's Look

I liked the orangey, blurry twilight better. It, you know, actually looked like a real twilight.

Re: Twilight's Look

The colored Twilight looked much better. Me, I thought the black-and-white version looked like sh**. It just wasn't interesting at all. The blurry orange version, on the other hand, is actually one of my favorite parts of TP. I found myself really looking forward to going in the Palace of Twilight just to be able to explore the Twilight Realm.

Re: Twilight's Look

As stated by many others, I really prefer the blurry version. It has the high contrast which gives it this mysterious feel, and the orangeish tint makes it seem more like twilight. The feel it gave me just seems so much more elaborate than the black-and-white version. Black-and-white would be interesting for a while, but I would just get bored of it soon. It doesn't seem like a different realm, just a realm with different colors.

Re: Twilight's Look

By looking at the pictures I perfer the black and white, but I wouldn't want to play the game in black and white. It'd grow tiresome after a while.. Plus who'd want to do a whole temple in black and white?

Re: Twilight's Look

Well, the Twilight and the creatures there aren't necessarily evil, so why should the realm they live in look that way?

Re: Twilight's Look

Well, It's called the Twilight relm. That means that there is still light, just not as much as during the middle of the day. With that said, I would have to say the current way the Twilight Relm looks suits it best.

Re: Twilight's Look

IMO the 'bloom' twilight realm looks 50 times better than the black and white one. I beat the games 2 times so far and I probably couldnt have stood it if it was black and white. black a
