"Exploding" Enemies

I have been seeing this on Wind Waker and TP and im sure everyone notices...

They enemies explode when you kill them. It can be purple and black or orange and black.

Why did they carry it over to Twilight Princess?

Cause it's freaking awesome! Why armos explosion doesn't hurt in TP is beyond me though.

Yeah, it's there so they won't ooze blood or just stay there to get tortured by the player. But hey, the explosions are so awesome! The first time I saw them in Twilight Princess, I was like, "Whoa! That's from Wind Waker! Awesome!" It really amuses me.

Re: "Exploding" Enemies

If you ask me, the explosions are really cool. It's satisfying to see your enemy blow up in front of you instead of turning into a weird red jelly (OoT).

Let's not forget that this is a game and showing enemies splatter blood all over the place and then rot to death would not be that fun. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind blood but at the same time, I don't find blood to be necessary.

I am happy that they didn't keep the actual explosion from WW. I was worried since they showed a WW explosion in one of the early trailers.

I was also ??? when I didn't die because of that explosion. They seem to take out every way possible to get damaged in this game o_O

Re: "Exploding" Enemies

All that is needed is blood when slicing....blood color based on enemy. (Could be different colors.) Like imagine killing a Jelly and watching its goo fly everywhere....sounds kinda sick i guess. But freaking sweet!

Can you be a little more descriptive? Your post is somewhat confusing.

Are you saying why do the enemies explode in TP? It's because the programmers made it that way. That, or maybe its a "clever" way for Nintendo to get rid of the need of corpses? Self-exploding enemies would work rather nicely.

Re: "Exploding" Enemies

Well I just think that when the enemies explode they release their 'darkness' or 'evil'... As they may be comprised of it. Thats just me though

Perhaps I just play Kingdom Hearts too much

Re: "Exploding" Enemies

how over the top are those easy to kill dragon birds in hyrule field, you hit them and they explode & die miles away
so you have to walk to the spot to collect the death gift LOL

I think its neat, they've kept the same sound sequence thing from wind waker aswell haven't they when you strike something. Its a clever way for nintendo to dispose of enemies, I like it.

Well... in Ocarina of Time, they went up in pixely flames,
but yeh they could think of anything better in my opinion .

They have? If they have then it must be A LOT more subtle than it was in WW because I haven't noticed o_O

Really? They don't. I didn't really pay attention to that, but when they were about to explode, I always stayed away from them.

Re: "Exploding" Enemies

No, you know what would be sweet? If the bodies just stayed there, dead until you left the area. No disappearing! But also, no blood and gore. As others said, for Zelda, not neccisary.

I guess that would be cool, but when they respawned, we would have too many bodies on the floor. Maybe mini boss and bosses only would of been good. They leave the locks on the floor after you unlock a door.

Re: "Exploding" Enemies

Enemies actually exploded since the original LoZ. I always like the explosions, its more satisfying, like how the monster always exploded in Power Rangers.
