Was it just me or was the second to last boss really fun! SPIOLERS

I thought the fight against Zant was intense. He was the only boss so far who I hated while I was fighting him. He was that annoying. It's too bad most of the other boss battles in the game weren't like this. That stupid karate chop thing he did and the screaming and everything came together for a really good boss. He was the only boss so far where I was like "YEAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!" when I killed him.

Zant is a really cool boss fight. I like how you have put a lot of your items to use, and Zant is really the only boss where you have to use more than one main item. The only other place that you have to use multiple items is the cave of ordeals.

Not to mention he has some awesome battle themes mixed in here and there.

I really liked the variety in his battles, but they were a little easy.

the fight itself was very fun. but i actually was a tad disapointed with they way Zant ended up being portrayed, he seems so strong, dark, mysterious, and in control of himself; then he ends up being a jumping, bouncing off the walls moron.

It does suck that Zant ends up being a childish moron after he was portrayed as such an evil badass. When I got to Zant's room in the Palace of Twilight and saw that cutscene, I was wondering why he was acting like such an idiot.

Lol. Zant the moron. The only place I thought he was "mysterious/dark" is before fighting Stallord.

In the "fall of hyrule" cutscene, after lakebed temple, and before the stallord boss fight, Zant seems really evil. After that though, his character really starts to go downhill.

Yea, that's part of the reason I hated him so much while I was fighting him. It made it a little more fun I think. A lot of evil villains become reduced to whimpering rabble at their end.

Zant sucked. I hate how Nintendo ruined him. When he first took all his mask off, he looked so stupid. Then his voice, his movements...WTF?

He could of been a worthy Ganondorf replacement...But no...
His boss fight...Was...How we can say it. Recycled? He could of been a lot better.

But yes, I agree on Zant's appearance. when I first saw that small part of his face, I expected him to look like a vampire or some long-haired twisted Hylian. But when I saw some kind of snake head, I was going "Wtf?"

I'm sorry, but I love Zant. I thought he was a fantastic villain.

Sniveling cowards can make outstanding villains. Like I stated in another thread, they can in many ways be even more dangerous than "badass" villains, simply because they are often more desperate.

And really, would it make sense for Ganondorf's underling to be a total badass? Absolutely not. Ganondorf needed someone he could manipulate, and Zant was that individual.

ya.. i know what ya mean... but at the time you think Zant is a bad ass (right after water temp) i was still holding out hope that Ganon was NOT in this game and i was excited to see that they were able to make Zant feel so intimidating.

oh well, hopefully once we get the storyline up past AoL (where Ganondorf actually gets killed once and for all) well see a new line of evil in the Zelda series.

I don't think he was housing Ganondorf at the time, I think Ganondorf was in Hyrule castle, of course I'm probably wrong.

I loved Zant, it was a fun fight.

Thinking about Zant's appearance, he sorta reminds me of Voldemort from Harry Potter.

Yeah, he was an excellent boss. His quirky antics made it worth while, not to mention he was fast and slippery as a fish. The other bosses gave me that: I"M GONNA KILL YOU!!! feeling. Zant made me laugh and question his sanity as the battle progressed. Best of all is that he was diverse in his fighting tactics and that's what I liked most.

That's how I felt in the sword fight part. He just desperately swings at you from every which way. Ganondorf was able to hold himself together more, and he didn't really attack quite as much.

I think Zant's character at the end sort of helped Ganondorf look more evil. Like a foil, or whatever.

Personally, I loved Zant. When I first saw him, I thought "Ooh, this guy's really, really evil". As the story goes on, I just think he's more and more evil. Now, I'm under the impression that we're never, ever going to see Ganon. Then, we see Zant after the water temple. His mouthpiece goes down, we see his mouth. At first I think "Wow, this guy's going to be beautiful under that mask". Now I'm under the impression that he's going to have long black hair and really intense eyes under that strange mask. Finally, we're in the Palace of Twilight. I first walk into his throne room, and he does a few angry hops. At this point, I'm taken aback; I didn't expect such childish movement from such an imposing figure. Then the mask comes off and he bounces all over the place. My exclamation just then was "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"! He's a lunatic. Then comes the backstory, fight, and POP. Essentially, we just spent 30 or so hours finding out the definition of irony, and I loved the whole thing.

As for the fight itself, I liked it. When he first jumped up and used that grand cross thing, I thought I was going to end up fighting in some kind of Twilight void, but what I got was much better. I loved the randomness and such. He was so funny when he was fighting -you could tell he was just using magic randomly. I don't even think this guy knew the first thing about fighting. When you really think about it, he was just a fool who had a lot of power; a clown really. I liked going back to all those places and using all of the items. Zant added a unique twist to some of those arenas.

Zant was cool; they didn't ruin him at all. I've heard him been called a giant evil chicken too. XD

And FYI, that's how I act when certain things (zelda, avatar:TLA) are held back. I sorta spazz and go insane. So...I actually think it was plausible for him to act like that.

I mean, if you were expecting to be king and then they skipped over you, wouldn't YOU be having a fit?
