WiiMote nunchuck probs, Zelda exclusive?

anyone here while playing zelda ever notice that the nunchuck tends to flake out on you at times. most noticably when your climbing vines you push the stick straight up but he goes right or left instead, and you actually have to push the thing north east/west to get him to go up. Its not as noticable elsewhere, but has happened to me.

im trying to figure out if i possibly got a bad nunchuck or if maybe the design needs some refining, or if perhaps its a querky zelda bug.

Its happened to me quite a few times too, but it was never bad enough to bother me. It hasn't happened on any other game I have played, just Zelda.

It happened to me. And enough times to make me mad. I have fallen off and lost like 6 hearts because of this. Once lead to a game over. Once lead to me having to re-do a particularly hard room in lakebed temple.

The nunchuck broke down on me altogether. Turns out one of the wires became loose.

Anyways, I've noticed this as well. Until now, I thought it was my faulty nunchuck; but apparently it happens to other people as well. It sometimes gets very annoying (especially when you're on the edge of the vines). I once tried going up and it went down. . .

So far for me, it's only noticeable in TP.

Actually, Nintendo is giving the option to exchange your Wii wrist-strap for a thicker one (since the initial one appears to be breaking on some people); and Nintendo will begin shipping the newer Wii straps in their Wii shipments from now on. The people who say that Nintendo is giving a "recall" on the straps is misleading you and everyone else.

You know, I think that might be a programming bug. I have the GameCube version, and I have the exact same problem. I just bought a new controller a few months ago, and given the fact that it's an issue on the GC and Wii versions, it must be a programming issue.

I really dont get though why would they release the wrist strap if they had not fully tested it?

Re: WiiMote nunchuck probs, Zelda exclusive?

I had this problem a couple times, but nothing serious. I've encountered similar problems in the other 3D Zeldas, actually, but they're few and far between.

I think a lot of it has to do with the camera angle. If the camera isn't set perfectly behind you as you climb, it gets a bit iffy.

Exactly right. You kinda have to be patient with it.

Cool your head and take things one step at a time. Never rush when playing a Zelda game. Everyone I know who sucks at Zelda games, usually tries to rush everything.

Same with me. I'll just be running straight and all of a sudden I can't turn Link anymore and he just keeps going with a slight angle to the left usually. It's fustrating but it's never hurt me too bad. I actually run into this problem more than the climbing problem.

Glad to see it's not my nunchuck though.

I don't think they realized that people would throw the wiimote as hard as they could towards a tv and expect the wrist strap to hold. For what force the games require, the wrist strap is fine.

I also had this problem. It's only when climbing vines, when walking or anything else it doesn't happen. It wasn't a huge deal though, just annoyed me a couple of times.

*WHOO* For a minute there I thought I had to return my Wii and buy a new one. If it happened to your GCN version wii should be cool and return our ZELDA'S instead of our Wii's.
(Didja catch the pun right there where it says "wii should be cool" instead of we should be cool, I'm awesome TEEHEE)

All you need to do when this happens is not touch the control stick for an instant, and it should correct itself, whether you're running or climbing.

Re: WiiMote nunchuck probs, Zelda exclusive?

Yeah the nunchuck is pretty suck. Not only does it go the wrong way sometimes. But it sometimes does not allow me todo a spin-attack or shield attack. Very annoying, most of the time it does work for me though.
