Why buy both??

I read someone mentioning in this forum earlier that they bought the Wii version of TP, but also bought the GC version as well. My question is simply...why?

Does the Wii version have anything that the GC version doesn't have, other than differences in how you control Link? Personally, I'm waiting for the GC version I preordered because (other that the scarcity of Wii systems) I just can't picture myself dancing around like an idiot trying to control Link.

Because in the GC version you have the classic gameplay. While in the Wii version you have a revolutionary style. It's all about preferance, and someone wanted to try both.

Dancing? HAHA. TP Wii is so much better than TP GC. Trust me.

It's basically two different games when it comes to the controls, everythings mirrored so the game would be backwards, keys on left, now on right, it kinda mixes it up, makes it like a master quest type thing, maybe? I might get both, due to the old controling that i sometimes miss. Who knows.

Well, I'm sorry If I offended you. I wasn't trying to be mean, I was just saying that to be colorful. I mean, who hasn't danced around like an idiot trying to make a remote control work on an electronic device at some point in their life?

Well, the Wii version has the best controllers. That's simply it. Im getting the Gamecube version also, just to play it the way it was supposed to be, unmirrored. Im not sure if Im gonna like the controls though. TP Wii controls is so good that I barly can't play any other game with a ordinary gamepad. And thank you TwilightPrince1. I totally enjoy TP, the best game I've played. OoT, you have met the winner.

Dance while controlling Link? They actually make you put on shoes and a little suit and make you dance around to play?

Everyone has stated gameplay reasons. Some people also want the GC version because its not mirrored, which is more reliable for timeline debating.

I have the Wii version and I'm getting the GC version. I love the way you control Link in the Wii version. But my favorite Zelda game is WW and to me it seems the controls will be exactly alike so I'm also getting GC version.

i really dont see the point to do this, if you do it you have to think that a poor Zelda fan wont play TP for not finding it anywhere and you laughing in your house playing one version and probabily the other one ignored and with lots of dust. the gameplay isnt that different, just replace a remote swing with the B button

People like collecting things, especially for their favorite series, movies, etc. I know people who have more than one version of the same dvd, one being a normal version, and the other being a collectors edition, or bonus features, etc.

I would rent, not buy, the GC version of TP, for the sole reason of playing classic. It would be a different experience, and I think that's why.

I wouldn't go as far as to buy it though...
