About the NPC's..

Quite a while ago, when several TP-screenshots were released (the reef shot, the 2 town screens you all know them), I started a thread about that Town screen. It was the one were you saw alot of characters walking around on a the city's square. Most people considered it a good thing, but me not in the first place. I thought of it that that ****load of people might mean that most of them would be as useless as the NPC's in the GTA-games. I thought it could only mean bad things. Like multiple-uses of the same character design. Or that most people don't have anything to say, or even worse (I heard somebody claim it), that you can't even TALK to some people. Everybody shared his thoughts and in a couple of days the thread was over, without having the real answer..

But now, a few months later, most of the people have TP already, and so, many questions for people that don't have the game yet (like me) can be answered. Now the topic of that thread I started a while ago was on top of my list. I have read many reviews, but have not heard anything about it really. So, to the ones who have TP, what is true about the things I just claimed. Are there too many NPC's in your opinion, and what kind of role do they play. I think if there really are as much NPC's as seen on that screenshot, it would be obvious that they don't all have such a big role as everybody had in tWW. I can live with that, not all 500 NPC's can have something intresting to say. I can live with some cliche-NPC's who just stand on the same place the whole game and only tell you how to talk to people. The things I really am worried about are if it's really so that you can't talk to some people, and that character-designs are multiple used (like in RE4 and GTA) . Still, if all of this isn't true, can you tell me something about if if you consider the NPC-part of the game worked out well, and if not, what they could have done better. And in case my claimes are true, is is it really that worse as I make it sound, or isn't it that bad after all?

Re: About the NPC's..

I forgot about the screen of Link swimming with the reef, I don't think it was in the final build.

There's a lot of NPCs in Castle Town but not a huge amount, about 25 on the screen at most. The ones that are on the move can't be spoken to, only if they're stationary. I have no problem with them, they all look unique to me.

Re: About the NPC's..

And do they have little cycles like in MM?

Re: About the NPC's..

I guess there is some sort of cycle. During the day it's bustling but at night there's hardly anyone around.
