Poes and Gold Skulltillas return!

This may not be much news, but I think this is worth of its own thread.

The Zelda: Twilight Princess Player's Guide features:
- Complete, detailed walkthrough
- Maps of every region and dungeon
- Detailed boss-slaying strategies
- Find every Piece of Heart, insect, and Poe's Soul
Oh happy day! This is awesome! I always loved hunting for gold skulltillas in OoT and wanted this side-quest to return. I also can't wait to see the Poes in Twilight Princess style graphics.

Edit: What about where it says "Maps of every region and dungeon"? Could this mean that the map we saw in this screenshot is only one region? Could there be more?

Maybe I'm thinking too deep. . . well, share your thoughts!

Re: Poes and Gold Skulltillas return!

Poes are cool, just glad there are more side quests. The insects might be those digging beetles though...

Insects does not mean gold skulltulas necessarily, although that would be sweet! Well my friends, TP is complete....I really wish I could play the game right now and see what lies in store for us!

Re: Poes and Gold Skulltillas return!

Wow that was unexpected. I don't think insects means gold skulltulas, so I wonder what that's all about. I also wonder about how they will do the poes. I bet you use your wolf senses to find the poes, and use some special power of midna's to capture them. I might buy the strategy guide after I beat it once to go back and do everything, but I also might just use gamefaqs.com. The only reason I bought one for WW was for the sake of the map. So if TP's regions are vast enough, and there are enough side quests and minigames spread throughout, I just might buy it.

Re: Poes and Gold Skulltillas return!

Man... that was a shock! Damn Nintendo for releasing such spoilers!!! DAMN!!!

But well... I saw this before on the Hylia. That are some good news... but are twice as spoilers!!! DAMN IT ALL!!! *ugh*... Sorry, a twilight madness atack.

But, anyway... The "maps" thing doesn´t means anything new, as with all Zelda games, the world is separated in regions, and that´s it.

For the "poe´s souls"... I´m sure that the poe souls will be the normal collectibe like gold skulltulas, I mean, that there will be not variations of poe souls, just many, many of them scattered and hidden like the Gold Skulltulas.

And the insects... they cannot be the same thing as a poe soul (in terms of gameplay or whatever that´s called). If the poe souls are not variated as the GS, maybe the "insects" are some new type of collectible, Animal Crossing style. I mean, you have to collect all the TYPES of insects, not just EVERY insect in the world.

I would find this rather interesting and an opening for new possibilities... Oh, I would love it. And, I can´t find a reason for this statement being untrue, but that´s just me obviously, as it´s my idea. But well... discalim anything, as walways.

Re: Poes and Gold Skulltillas return!

Hey, great find! I figured the Poes would be back (darker, badder zelda) but I wonder what's this about insects...something about animals, maybe? They could be skultullas, or bugs in a bottle, or like MadCucco said, they could be a collection game (that's what the listing implies, anyway).
And why would they list poes souls? Because it's a mjor minigame, like getting gold skultullas in OoT or MM, that's why.

Re: Poes and Gold Skulltillas return!

Exactly Klew, they'd only list it there if it was a major part of the game! My first thoughts, and if it bothered to mention 'every insect' as well, they must be a large part of the game also! Perhaps like the fairys from MM? That would be great, I loved those in the game...although, Skullultas returning would be even better. I've missed them in recent games. Also, I really didn't like the Poes in TWW, they looked absolutely awful In my oppinion. I reckon they'll make them look fantastic in TP.

Re: Poes and Gold Skulltillas return!

Poe's have been in more than just OoT. I'm glad that they've made a return as they're a staple in the Zelda games, and having a Big Poe mini-quest is always interesting. I remember it took me forever, as a naive and young game player to get all of the Poe's in Hyrule Field on Epona. This is another brilliant addition to TP, as it was to OoT. Poe's were also in TMC and there have been Ghosts in most of the Zelda games to date.

The insects things sounds interesting. I don't think that it's like to be skulltulas, but it will probably be something similar, which is unsurprising, as most games have that sort of collect things and get stuff vibe going on.

Re: Poes and Gold Skulltillas return!

Good find I kinda knew the Poes would be back since they were in past games, but yea they are going to look more cool now hehe. I will buy the strategy guide but I usually only get them if im really stuck and I like to have as much Zelda stuff as I can!

Very nice. I'm surprised no one brought this up before. It could be referring to Twilight region vs. normal region, but I think you may be on to something.

Thanks for the heads up. It would be awesome that Poe's are returning and hopefully the gold skulltulas too.

Although, skulltulas are spiders right? Spiders are not insects.

HA I thought the same exact thing but didn't want to bring that up. Spiders are arachnids.

The first thing I thought when I read that article is of the insects you trap in your jar in OoT. But it could be Skulltula related, hopefully so.

Re: Poes and Gold Skulltillas return!

What would the game be like without it's two main creatures I'm glad that they are gonig to be in this game, as they are really fun to do the miniquests on the other games, such as catching 10 big poes on OoT and hunting for Skulltulas in temples... I love it

Thanks for the news anyway

Re: Poes and Gold Skulltillas return!

It's not the collectables themselves that intrigue me so much, but what they're used for. Probably for trading for certain items and etc etc.

I doubt insect = skulltula. Skulltulas are arachnids, anyway!

My guess? A bug-catching sidequest that takes advantage of the Wiimote!

I'm well aware that Poes are in other Zelda games, but I believe Ocarina of Time was the first game to have Poes. In fact, I'm quite sure. The ghosts in ALttP were called "Reapers" and the ghosts in LA were called "Ghinis".

Yeah, I kind of doubted them being Gold Skulltulas (yeah, I spelled it wrong before), but I kind of wanted more hits/replies so I said that.
