Zelda Is The Twilight Princess, Right?

It just occured to me, who is the Twilight Princess?
Most peoples' first guess would be Zelda, I mean, who else could it be?
But what if it isn't Zelda, who is it?

How about you wait a few months and find out yourself instead of knowing the whole point behind the game when you've never played it.

Recently, Aonuma hinted that TP might be someone other than Zelda. My guess is that it is Midna (since her mask is on the game logo) but we just don't know.

Good idea, why don't we just shut down the entire forum and wait until the game is released before we discuss or speculate any further about TP. o_O

That is something (kind of) unpredictable for now, becuase Aounoma gave us two hints:

-He "vaguely hints that the Twilight Princess will be someone different from Zelda.", and...
-"About Midna, Eiji says she won't be able to stop the Twilight Realm's progression on her own, so that's why Link is responsible to help her." So in this quote, his actually saying that Midna is trying to stop the Twilight.

So there you have: The twilight princess is (though vagualy hinted) not Zelda, and since we all know that the Twilight Princess may be in the Twilight´s side (ah duh... but, m-a-y-b-e not...), and Midna is trying to stop the Twilight we can also assume that Midna is not guilty either... so, we don´t know yet. But we can obviously speculate.

Well I think that Midnas backstory will be something like she used to be a princess in another time/dimension but something happened and it transformed her into her current state which is basically an imp. As we progress in TP we'll learn what happened to her and link/wolf link will help her battle the evil that is the twilight and at the end of the game Midna will return to her previous form of a beautiful princess.

But then Zeldas status would be pretty meaningless if that above theory of mine is correct. If the game is primarily focused on Midna, Zelda might have a very small role. I really don't know lol. Zelda and Midna might be connected somehow.....maybe Midna is a part of the royal family or a family member of Zeldas?

I bet Ganondorf is the Twilight Princess!!

There is a really really slight possibility of Ganon being the Twilight... well, Princess. But there is. And for Midna being the TP... read my above post.

Edit: Princess... no, discard Ganon.

Well if Midna is the twilight princess, then what will Zeldas role be?

Hmm. To be beautiful, trapped, squealing like a guinea pig, and rescued.

Naw, personally, I think Zelda is still the TP, and it was just a bad translation from the magazine...

I don't know about that, it seems that Midna will have a bigger role in this game than Zelda. We have seen hardly any media for Zelda and have no information on her role in TP....same as Ganon.

I don't think that Zelda is the TP. I think it's the dictator ruleing the twilight.

I really think Midna is/was a princess at one time or another. I don't think Nintendo will have princess zelda, princess midna, and then another princess of the twilight realm......unless midna is the twilight princess and she is using link to destroy the twilight king, so she can transform back into the princess and rule the world/twilight? But then again, I don't see Nintendo having the player get attached to Midna and play as wolf/link and Midna for a big portion of the game and then have Midna turn on you at the end and possibily be the main boss.

I wouldn't mind if that happened though. Have Minda turn on link at the end and making her be the final boss. I still really want to know how Zelda and Ganon tie into the story. Maybe Ganon is the king of the twilight and he transforms midna into the imp-like creature because he fears her powers/presence and Midna is using Link to help defeat Ganon, so she can return to her normal self and be the dictator?

Umm... here a guess! What if there is no Twilight Princess, and the title only connects with Zelda and the Twilight Realm seperately.

But Midna's Links' shadow, that seems kinda weird that she would be the "Twilight Princess". I guess everythings weird though. I mean, what happens if she turns out to be evil? Does he kill her and then have a normal shadow later in life?

So it could be Zelda still, which would seem too obvious, or it's a third person.

Knowing Nintendo, their not going to get too complicated and have two princess's and then midna. As for the shadow theory, it's still not 100% confirmed that midna is links shadow. Nintendo might just have it setup that when you need a hint/tip midna comes out of links shadow because hoenstly, where else would she come from? And she might of only been in the normal hyrule world for the demoes and in the final version she won't be available to link unless he's in the twilight.

I just thought of this, if Zelda's not the TP, and Midna isn't, what about Ilia? She hasn't been mentioned since we saw her attacked with Colin at E3'05. Something tells me she's more important than just your friend...
