Ordon Village?

Apparently, in the new fishing vid released by GameTrailers.com, the Toaru catfish has been changed to the Ordon catfish. Could this be Toaru's final name? Check it out.

Re: Ordon Village?

They (nintendo) seemed to indicate that the village name would be changed before the end of it all. It is also possible that this could be another village, although unlikely.

Thumbs up

Maybe there are two catfishes... one Toaru and one Ordon.
But you could be right!

Re: Ordon Village?

Anything is possible. Although, why would Nintendo want to change the name; Toaru seems fine?

Re: Ordon Village?

Most likely...

People shouldn't have gotten used to Toaru though... it's a japanese name for "Unidentified", meaning it was meant to be a temporary name. Supposedly they used the name Toaru for Windfall Island in WW before its release.

So most likely Ordon is the new village name.

Re: Ordon Village?

I heard (from someone on the forums, which means that it's probably made up) that the Ordon catfish is from the neighboring Ordon Woods.

Well, I like the idea of Toaru being the final name--like, this game had so much hype they couldn't change it.

Wow, fishing is so cool! Well I don't know where you guys took "Taoru" instead of "Ordon". I think Ordon is good enough.

Re: Ordon Village?

Ordon sounds much better than Toaru in my opinion. Ordon sounds like it could become the name of a new famous area in Hyrule like Kakariko, Koriki Forest, Death Mountain, Lake Hylia, Lost Woods, etc. Plus, based on the videos from E3 2005, Ordon looks stunning. It is massive, it is beautiful, it is realistic (a realistic amount of people and homes, animals), it has a pond you can boat on, and I really just love it. It even seems to have it's own forest area and the healing fountain seems to be a major part in the game based on the fourth trailer. Hopefully, it keeps all its beauty mirrored, but I doubt that will alter Ordon that much or in a negative way. Plus, if the massive fishing pond is part of Ordon Village, that will secure Ordon as being the greatest town in the Zelda series, unless Nintendo pulls the impossible and has an even better village in store for us in TP.

I can only hope that all the other towns/villages/cities are as magnificent and as visually stunning as Ordon. Seeing Hyrule Castle fills me with that hope! I can't wait 'till I finally get TP and I finally get the chance to explore these towns myself and discover new ones!

Honestly, I've never seen such amazing landscapes in a game before. If you get the chance, go back to the E3 2005 demos and watch the Toaru (Ordon) Villiage bits. It's still impresses me to this day!

Re: Ordon Village?

Ordon sounds very familiar for some reason... I think it came from one of the old comic books (as a town in Calatia?), but I can't remember... That's why I'm very excited about the name change!

Re: Ordon Village?

"Taoru" also seems familiar... I think it's how the big guy in Jackie Chan Adventures is called.

I actually like ordon better than taoru myself. Hopefully Ordon is the name of the village.

Re: Ordon Village?

Ordon is a cool name. I personally prefer Taoru but Taoru is Japnese for un-named so it's very possible that this is the final name

Re: Ordon Village?

Yeah, as stated previously, Toaru basically means "Unspecified". Ordon sounds like a much better name, in my opinion.

But for all we know, the current "Ordon" might even be changed to "Oldon". You know how the letters L and R are often mixed up when translating Japanese to English? Perhaps that's what happened, and the village will actually be called Oldon in the final build.

But I'm just speculating. And I personally like Ordon better than Oldon, anyway. Oldon soudns too generic. Ordon just sounds better, but that's what I think and I won't force it.

Re: Ordon Village?

I wouldn't be surprised if the name "Toaru" is in the final game since a lot of project- or temporary names grow on the devs (and us) and are kept in the final build.

The "Nunchuk" controller is a perfect example of this.

All these Town names are not finalised, I think.
Bear in mind, that in the WindWaker era, almost all the Islands had different names, and interestingly enough, Windfall Island was originally called Taura Island - these names were even used in the Official guide.

So - I'm not really believing the names for the Towns so far are finalised, and nor do I care, really.

Re: Ordon Village?

If you watch the video, you'll see that the "Ordon catfish" is the name in the English version of the demo.
