Stealth Area

Many Zelda games since Ocarina of Time has had a area which you had to sneak around. Something in my gut says that thats going to be the case in Twilight Princess.

Notice the shackels on Wolf Link. I doubt that that is a fashion for wolves. It signifies that Wolf Link was kept prisoner, and an escaped prisoner is a fugative. In the area that you first become a wolf, I believe that you must sneak around the area, if only to hide from Moblins. We still aren't sure if Wolf Link can attack, and if he can, he wouldn't be able to take down a large pig so easily.

Many of us know that when you see alot of soldiers, they aren't exactly welcoming. Those guards have an ominous feel to them, and if they ever materialise, I don't think they would like to see you.

If the Twilight Realm is a negative zone as I think, its possible that those guards are not exactly ghost, but rather people in the light world. You may just use the Twilight Realm to get past them.

I really wouldn't mind a stealth area, and I'm looking forward to one. Sometimes its best to shoplift then to rob them armed.

Re: Stealth Area

I'm sure there will be stealth areas, and actuall y we do know that wolf Link can attack, in an older trailer it shows him attacking. and that area I don't thin is a sneaking one, it shows i in a trailer and he doesn't seem to be sneaking, plus that area looks nothing like the castle he gets held prioner in. and finally, I just think those are ghosts, consideing they look like ghosts and we've seen other ones that actually look dead and they appear just like that.

The pics I used are not the castle that Wolf Link was held prisoner in. I just needed to show the shackels and the ghosts.

Hey i think i got to something, maybe further in the game process you will be able to
shift between the two dimensions The twilight and the Normal Light world, whenever you want.
Maybe by using a instrument or something you'll get to warp between those two dimensions .. ?

Re: Stealth Area

Looks more like Hyrule Castle (or Hyrule Castle Market Town like someone said) and it looks like the inhabitants are trapped in a dimension between the real world and the twilight world (or something like that). And yes, I know that the twilight isn't a different world but I couldn't find a better word for it.

I think it's more of a story element to see that something's out of place and you'll make your way to other areas/rooms to fight some twilight monsters or even to meet Zelda for the first time.

This must be in the very beginning of the game because we were told that Hyrule Castle was in fact the first dungeon in the game.

Edit: I think most of what I wrote was OT.. so I'll say no, I would not like more stealth areas like in OoT. I found that part of the game to be somewhat lacking.

Seems alot like A Link to the Past. Like I said a long time ago, this game may be the return of the Magic Mirror and Moon Pearl. I just wish Bunny Link returned.

Where did you hear that? I don't remember it being confirmed that the first dungeon was Hyrule Castle.

What about the WW stealth area? No, better?

The WW Sealth areas were really good, not that difficult but still well done.

Re: Stealth Area

Well, Eonuma did say that Wolf Link is much weaker than human Link in the Revolution magazine interview. He said you will really notice how much stronger Link is when human than when in his wolf form (or something like that). Since Wolf Link is weaker, I am guessing you'll have to hide (use stealth) or run away from bigger creatures.

I went into a little detail about stealth in my Wolf Gameplay: The Potential thread a while back.

Where did we see wolf link attack? All we've seen is wolf link run, jump, use sense abilities, and we know he can dig. As for attacks, we've only seen Midna trap enemies and wolf link dashed at them. I hope thats not the only attack....and remember, that was in the e3 2005 trailer which is over a year old and it still sported the black and white twilight realm. The twilight realm has changed since then and that attack could of also been revamped/removed.

Re: Stealth Area

I wouldn't be surprised. In one of the old '05 TP videos, Link had to get his regular sword in Torau Village (not the MS) by speaking to a man who was holding it. He then told him he had to sneak up behind him. The video showed Link getting behind a rock, then sneaking up behind the man in order to obtain his sword.

I wouldn't mind a little stealth tactics in TP. WW's stealth level was horrible though. Hopefully Nintendo learned from WW and makes sure the stealth part of the gameplay isn't as bad in TP.

I don’t want to be forced to hide from the enemy too much either--but I doubt Nintendo would force the player into hiding that much in TP.

Re: Stealth Area

For some of you:

The twilight is not a parallel dimension to Hyrule, it´s just like an infection.

So, it is imposible to switch between "dimensions", as there is only one. Now, the image of the soldiers (wich is mine... but that doesn´t matter) is in "Hyrule Market" or some bid town, wich is friendly to you. And you said that in order to evade them (or any other "guard") you would have to switch dimensions or something, and something about these guards materialising. The two things are imposible.

And I bet these glowing people in the twilight are just infected by it, "ghost" is just a term given to them because in the GDC 2005 some glowing freekas like these appear to be ghosts, but these new glowing freekas doesn´t seem like ghosts (they don´t seem to be death, that´s what I mean with "ghosts").

Re: Stealth Area

When he first becomes the wolf, maybe you can't attack because, well he's never been a wolf before. He doesn't know how, which I doubt. Or you can only attack using Midna, which I hope isn't true.
But I don't think that's the case, he probably did attack, he just got captured.
I for one, don't want stealth, when I go back and play tWW I find myself hating the sneaking in the Forsaken Fortress.

Those guards have the Hylian bird on there chest, I don't think they're bad.

"You may just use the Twilight Realm to get past them."

You guys are forgetting that the Twilight Realm isn't a different world, like the light and dark world in ALttP where you can just switch between. It's the same world just covered with...twilight I guess, think of it as a fog that infects what it touches.

Wow... I've read five things that are unsubstantiated, but have been stated as if a fact.

This is why I've decided to be on ZU less... people are starting to come out with some whacky things.

For one, stop it with the use of bold in you posts. Once you reach the second line, yur vision blurs and your point is completely lost on myself.

1. I have yet to see any interview where it was stated that Wolf Link would be weaker than regular Link.

2. Hyrule town was never confirmed to be the first dungeon. In fact, though we are sure of its existance in the game, it hasn't even been properly shown off.

3. The Twilight is an infection, yes, but why does that instantly make it something other than another dimension? I have yet to see this confirmed.

4. The shot with the guards is Hyrule Town. Now, though I'm sure we've all speculated about this, I'm not certain that the areas have actual confirmed names yet. I don't know everything about these shots, but I dunno... It just seems to be odd to know the place when we know so few names for any areas in the game.

As for #5... well, we're all prone to over-exhagerrating.
