Re: The Korok's Real Faces...

My guess is that since the Koroks evolved from the human-like Kokiri, their faces became distorted by the cursed seas. Maybe that is why their faces are hidden. Thats what most people do if their face is ugly. They try to hide it in some way. Sinc they all wear masks, they have no shame. So all is perfectly normal and customery to there race.

Those leaves ARE their faces. That form is the form they were transformed into when the seas rose, so that body is their real body: There is nothing behind it.

Re: The Korok's Real Faces...

Yes, but that isn't the point at hand. You can see the leaves are their faces, because their body is some kind of bark or stalk material. You wouldn't get human, or human style, heads on those forest bodies.

Re: The Korok's Real Faces...

I would beleive the leaves to be faces, not masks at all. Nintendo presented the korok's in such a way to be cute happy little forest spirits, there is nothing wrong with the koroks, and nothing of the sort is covered withing tWW's text dump.

The leaves are simply attached like skin to the korok's body, 'nuff said.

Re: The Korok's Real Faces...

I believe the leaves are attatched to the faces, as well. Like, they grow out of the wooden bodies.

It's a completely different game. Plus, this one was a sprout in OoT, now he's matured into an old tree, just like he was before. And, anyway, the graphics are cartoonier in this, and in OoT, they're more realistic. It's just a matter of art, really.

You can actually see behind the leaves in the game. Their only faces are the leaves! Just go up to one and move the camera. You'll see.

Re: The Korok's Real Faces...

Not that I have any proof to back this up but I always thought that when Nintendo made the Koroks they encountered a problem they all looked almost alike. Since they don't wear clothes , have hair or have big enough faces to caractorize them Nintendo decided to give each of them a leaf so that you can tell them appart. Under the leaf I think there are just 2 small eyes and a mouth

Re: The Korok's Real Faces...

It's a mystery. They probably want to hide up their faces because thinking about the fact that korikis turned into koroks is quite bizzare.

The leaves probably are their faces. The Deku Tree changed them to look like that, it wasn't because of the sea.

Re: The Korok's Real Faces...

but in real life you would see one. MM and OOT are exeptions..

maybe they were ugly beings, so ugly that they were killing themselves, so the deku tree used his magic to give them faces like leaves. Its just a suggestion.

what if they glued the leaves onto their faces? They are just like the redeads, whose faces look like masks.

The Koroks didn't evolve from the Kokiri. The Kokiri were forest spirits whom the Great Deku Tree fathered, and after the flood they chose to take on a different form. I think that was explained somewhere in the game.

Actually, because they now lived on the sea, they changed in order to survive. Survival of the fittest. Only the strong survive. Those who cannot change, well, they're gonna die. ... I hate hippies. And vegetarians. And vegetarian hippies. (I know, it was random.)
