Gerudo Theories
I'm asking people what they think happened to the Gerudos. Do you think they all died, did they move on to another place where there isn't that much water, or do you think they're still in Hyrule, but just weren't shown? What do you think?

Re: Gerudo Theories
First, since there's almost no reference to them, no solid statement can be made about them. They could be extinct, they could be not.
The only thing closely resembling a Gerudo was the picture of what I guess is Tetra's mother.

Re: Gerudo Theories
I have a good theory about what happened to the Gerudos. They appear in both OoT and FSA. In the ALttP manual, in the prologue it says that a band of thieves skilled in black magic opened a gateway to the Sacred Realm, and that they all went charging into it, hoping to obtain the Triforce. But their leader, Ganondorf Dragmire, slayed them all so that only he could have the Triforce. And since FSA and ALttP are so alike in terms of storyline characters and the location of places, I think that FSA comes before ALttP, and that the Gerudo got killed (like it says in the manual) in their attempt to take the Triforce, and Ganondorf wouldn't have any of that. And since Ganondorf killed all of them, that explains why the Gerudo aren't seen or mentioned in any other games. I thought of this whilst playing FSA and reading the ALttP manual, and after thinking about it, it seemed the most logical thing to have happened.

Re: Gerudo Theories
Well many people have pointed ears in WW like hyrulians and some have smooth ones like gerudos and in OOT on of the gossip stones said that gerudos go to hyrule market to look for boyfriends. Get the picture?

Re: Gerudo Theories
When i saw this thread first, i thought this was going to end on impossible theories of people who are bored. But this time there is a prove!! I dont know the exactly quote,..but on the begin of tWW, when you are on the top of the pirate ship taking a look at Forsaken Fortress, Tetra says something abouth the Gerodus.. Something that some wimen-pirate lived there and you could do plenty good bussiness with them, but the place got cursed or something..." This is what i think it was like... i dont know exactly anymore, but i do know something was said abouth the gerodus at that time.. could someone get the exact quote??

Re: Gerudo Theories
Nothing is said about Gerudo or women when Tetra says that, and she definately didn't say anything about good business. I don't know the exact words she said, but it was something like this:
"A band of pirates that we competed with used to live there, but now the place looks really dangerous." A band of pirates USED to live there. They don't anymore. Plus, the Gerudos are pirates in one game: MM. And Termina isn't in the same dimension as Hyrule, so how can they have been living here? Unless they turned into pirates because of the sea, but I think it's just a little thing Ninty threw in to give Forsaken Fortress a bit of a backstory. It may of been Gerudos that Tetra and the rest were competing with, or might just of been a normal rival group of pirates.

Re: Gerudo Theories
Oh, i really thought it was going abouth the Gerodus... But i dont believe it couldnt be gerodus just because it gerodus are only pirates in MM.. Are you sure it arent gerodus?? Man you just destroyed my dream, i thought from the second time i played tWW they were talking abouth Gerodus, that it was a hidden easter-egg for Nintendo Fans.... But probably your right.. if there used to live Gerodus, there would be more hints hidden in the Forsaken Fortress himself... But the fortress looks somuch like the gerodus fortress!!! NAH I JUST CANT BELIEVE IT!!!

I had a thread simmilar to this a year ago, What I gathered was that the gerudos are ganons race. The gerudo females give birth to a male every 100 years, thats why ganon is so special. The gerudos are all over hyrule, Deserts, Ships in termania, even in windwaker. the gerudos are just a pirate/thief type race, so I believe that they migrate around hyrule and other places, I think they will be in TP as well. The gerudos are truly a great race Joe

Re: Gerudo Theories
I have said many times what happened.
Without their male (Ganondorf), the Gerudo were unable to produce another male offspring to be their king, and eventually the race died out, interbreeding with Hylians and becoming what we know of today as the Pirates from The Wind Waker. That's why you don't see any Gerudos outside of the OoT era (except for in FSA, which has a lot of plot issues that make it very difficult to place in canon anyway).

Re: Gerudo Theories
I've checked the Forsaken Fortress, and there isn't a Gerudo symbol to be seen. However, I did find a brand new symbol, that looks like an upside down pawprint with two of the Forsaken Fortress searchlights above it.
Oni-link wolf, you just said what I've looked at myself. All the major places in OoT have become islands in TWW, except for the Forsaken Fortress being the Gerudo Fortress. The game area for OoT shows that all the Gerudo Fortress and desert areas in OoT are actually in the south-west, not in the west. Also, the Forsaken Fortress is right in the north west corner of Hyrule, so it must have been constructed between OoT and TWW. So I think that the island where the Earth Temple is (it's next to Outset island and it's the Temple where you take Medli), is where the Gerudo area is, because the island has the same orange-brown rock and sandy areas as the Gerudo and desert areas in OoT. Makes you wonder who built the Forsaken Fortress...
