It seems that the true scope of TP has been revealed

We all knew that it was going to be huge...

We all read the interviews, which said that it was going to be huge...

We all watched, and some of us played, the demo with the Hyrule Field the size of Kansas...

But did we know that it was this huge?

I just finished watching the vids for TP from this year's E3, and this is all I can think about currently.

Just watch the gameplay vids, and pay close attention to the landscapes... how they just go on... and on... and on... and... well, you get the picture.

Think TWW size, but replace the ocean with something actually worth looking at.

It seems that Link's hometown has now become a certified mountain range, which explains the goats.

Re: It seems that the true scope of TP has been revealed

I thought you had disappeared.

In any case... hiya!

It isn't necessarily one specific video, it's taking all of them and putting them all into one train of thought.

Then it hits you.

If you look at some of the Wii videos, try pausing them here or there when you get a chance to look at a full landscape.

Well, I must agree, the game surely looks epic and huge, kinda reminds me of the Colossus game videos but with more "life"

Re: It seems that the true scope of TP has been revealed

I'm actually really excited for the extremity of the hugeness of the land. However, one thing that must be included then is a warp ability

I hope it's even larger than WW. WW was big, but you could sail around the perimeter in 30 minutes if you know what you're doing. I want something that's MMORPG big, but not MMORPG. I can't wait to spend hours upon hours just wandering aimlessly and doing miniquests.

I'm curious, since i havent been around lately....other than the control scheme, is the Wii version any different than the GC version?

Re: It seems that the true scope of TP has been revealed

As far as we know the only thing different from the 2 versions is the control scheme. Well i guess Wii version gets navi as a curser. But thats about it.

Yea i really hope TP is alot bigger than tWW. I just cant wait to get on my horse and start riding around. if they make Hyrule field filled with boar riders and other monsters i wont mind having to ride my horse everywhere. Thats the one thing OoT could have done better with. for the most part Hyrule field was empty, I got the feeling Hyrule was supposed to be full of evil when your an adult. but the only 2 places that show this is the Market and Kokiri forest(before you beat the forest temple)

Anyways, I love that they made Hyrule so huge, we can easily tell with some of the Trailers(the one where Link is riding across hyrule coming from the Castle)

*starts day dreaming of riding epona around Hyrule field*

You're no fun.

Although, you're definitely right. It had better not be a song this time, though.

Re: It seems that the true scope of TP has been revealed

No warping. I love riding around Hyrule on Epona. I loved it in OoT, so I'm going to love it in TP. Plus it'd be cool if there were lots of enemies that you could fight whilst travelling. I suppose warping isn't aht bad an idea, but not too much of it. Man this thread has got my hype for TP going again *starts bouncing around the room*.

Re: It seems that the true scope of TP has been revealed

There is this shot of Link riding his horse through what looks like the end of a forest to the left you can see what looks like the hill on which Lon Lon Ranch was in OoT and some other hills as well. Would be nice to see Lon Lon Ranch again. I wonder who lives there then, but you can also see a wide section of a field which looks massive. You can see a castle probably Hyrule castle in the distance. If it

You can indeed see a bit of the scale. It is definitely bigger then OoT if it is the size of WW but then a massive landmass. Also the fact that in the trailer I already count 5 bosses. Which is already more than MM or WW and I'm sure they are not going to show the majority of bosses in the trailer already so there are probably loads more

As for warping, I also like riding the horse to areas but sometimes in the case of for example the snow temple in MM I hated the trip to go there so preferred using warping also warping to the to the fire temple in OoT was a must so put warping in there please! Also for people who don't like riding around when it isn't necessary.

P.S. What is wrong with warp songs? Yes they have been used for ever but aren't songs a key element of Zelda?

Re: It seems that the true scope of TP has been revealed

Not to mention the size of the towns. So many people, surely you can't interact with them all. I haven't played SoC but TP looks set to beat it's epicness. Theres only like three characters (besides the Collosi) in the whole game from what I've seen.

Re: It seems that the true scope of TP has been revealed

I think it is somewhere near where the boar riders are attacking the town, where the 2 kids are standing there and one runs off while the other is in shock and doesnt move.

its either before or after that.

*Nod* This I knew. WW, with landscapes instead of water. And that's part of the reason why I'm so damn excited about this game. *Works self into a frenzy, then foams at the mouth and runs out before he hurts someone*

You're no fun.

Look, people, warp songs are there for when you need them. The controller does not make your hands play the song. You play the song. If you like riding around on Hyrule Field, by all means, do so. But there are times when a warp song would be hugely helpful. For instance...

*Cut to scene of Link in a hoarde of moblins*

Link: Only one heart left... I have to make it out of this alive!

Moblin: Ghkt! *Hits Link with a mace*

Link: Nooo! If only I'd had a warp song! *Dies*

My point exactly, Link. Thank you for that excruciatingly painful illustration. We really appreciate it.

Link: *Bleeds*
