Burning question about my copy of TWW

Now that I have a digital camera I've decided to settle this once and for all.

My copy of TWW has the OoT & MQ bonus disk all in one case with box art to match. I thought this was typical among people who preordered but I have only seen it as seperate everywhere else. It says "Not for Resale" on the back. I suppose this was a promo copy in very, very limited distribution or something because I haven't seen it anywhere else. I searched all over the net and there doesn't seem to be any indication of their existance despite the fact that I have one in my possession. I acquired it new on ebay. It is 100% authentic. Anyone know about this? Someone here has to know something about it.

^ That's the one I have too but I've never seen a box like yours Strain. Maybe it's the American version of the box when people preordered it over there?

Re: Burning question about my copy of TWW

I have seen that exact same two-disc case as yours Strain in a used game store in the United States and although I don't know for certain where they came from I do have a pretty good idea. Back when Windwaker was on preorder/first released in the U.S. a few stores around my area had special Wind Waker/OOT & MQ GameCube bundled sets. These bundled sets were pretty much like the Metroid Prime/Metroid Prime 2 Bonus Disc bundled set or the Zelda: Collector's Edition bundled set. You got a GCN, a contoller, and both Wind Waker and the OOT & MQ games. I have never seen one of these sets opened before but I'm guessing to save space in the box Nintendo used a special two-disc case (like the Metroid Prime/Prime 2 Bonus Disc came in) rather than two seperate cases (which is what people who preordered without buying a GCN got).

Thank you. I still wonder why I haven't seen any more of these, or that no one has ever mentioned them. That used game store wouldn't have by any chance been in Texas would it?

Actually it was in Ohio at a used game store in Eastgate Mall (which is near the Cincinnati area). They only had one two-disc case and that was almost over a year ago. I've been back a few times since and it is no longer there so I assume they have sold it.

Just a brief edit here, I found a website that posted news on the Windwaker GCN bundle that came out in the United States. According to the site this bundle was an exclusive to Wal-Mart and not as heavily advertised as the Zelda: Collector's Edition bundle that came out later the same year. This would explain why I only remember seeing a few of them or why hardly anyone here has ever seen or mentioned them. Sadly there are no pictures of the box, but from what I vaguely remember it was a fairly simple looking box (like a normal GCN) with a little Zelda blurb in one of the corners (similar to the Collector's Edition sticker).

I ebayed it from Texas, which is why I asked. That would have been funny if we were talking about the exact same copy. Well, you've done the perfect job of clearing this up for me. I can now rest easy.

Or it could be display-only packaging. Just a thought.

Yeah, that would have been quite amusing if it was the same exact copy. I am glad I could be of some service.

Re: Burning question about my copy of TWW

The previous versions of TWW, when it first came out had those boxes. Now you can just get them seperate, thats what I did.

Re: Burning question about my copy of TWW

For the Record.
The one I got didn't come with seperate art, but a crummy sticker.....
It could just be the PAL versions though, I don't know.

It just had another flappy thing for the game (like a Dvd case with 2 dvds) instead of a different case all together. I got jipped

Re: Burning question about my copy of TWW

I preordered The Wind Waker and got the Master Quest disk, but I also got it before The Wind Waker came out, so the two-games-in-one-case is likely another promotion.

Re: Burning question about my copy of TWW

perhaps they added Master Quest for those paying extra for WW because they knew WW was such a small game compared to earlier ones and they wanted to keep their customers happy...
just a thought...

You pre-oredered it to get the bounus disk but no box art i dont know about i think its because there wasnt enough room and the box art already game out on the origanal box.

Re: Burning question about my copy of TWW

Mines just like yours, apart from it says '10/10' instead of 95%. People got it like that for a limited time only and it was always 2 discs in one box. I got it a day after it came out and I got the bonus disc version.
