Laruto-quote

"You must find the person who carries on my bloodline"-Laruto

I do belive that one quote end the discussion once and for all. Sense the person link found was meldi(sp) and she was a rito where Laruto was a zora it proves that the zoras did in fact evlove into the ritos.

I addmit I was scpetical at first even with the famous quote "Take this link, we rito used it before we evloved wings" I didn't belive but after re playing wind waker and doing the earth temple first(I doubt that actualls matters) I heard her say that there is no longer a doubt in my mind about the zora rito relation.

If a thread has already been made discussing this quote please block this thread, I for one have never seen this quote used in the zora-rito argument.

Re: Laruto-quote

Yeah sorry to burst your bubble but this is widely known and understood, Rito evolved from Zora, it's a fact.

Re: Laruto-quote

Actually it is still widly argued although most "experts" belive it to be so it is not "widely known and understood" by most people.

Re: Laruto-quote

Before they lock this post: Evolution is not really plausible, there's really not enough time for that. I mean, like 10000 years as homo sapiens and we haven't changed a bit. I believe it's more like "transformation"

Re: Laruto-quote

I already know this its already been proven sorry but I knew this before you probably I thought there was a connection the first time I played it where did the zoras go then I heard Medli say that then Laruto proved for a fact because they both had the same instrument so I said they must have evolved form Zoras the Ritos

Rito get their wings from Valoo, so it can be said that they have not actually evolved the wings.

Re: Laruto-quote

Unless of course medli had a blood transfusion and was given zora blood, but yes I'm gonna go with the transformation concept. Chances are we shall probably witness the beginnings at least of the zora transformation in TP. Infact, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the reason we haven't seen any zoras yet for TP is because it would give something important away, like the fact that they are going through a change or something.

Re: Laruto-quote

Apparantly, in the Japanese version, she never says "bloodline", and talks about it simply being a lineage of sages selected by destiny, rather then bloodline.

But I am pretty sure the Zoras evolved into the Rito. Much as I prefer the former.

Re: Laruto-quote

The Zora definately evolved into the Rito, but I believe it was a combination of transformation and evolution. They only got their wings from Valoo, not their beaks and other feathers. I think that once they had gotton the Valoo scale as compulsary to all Zora that reached a certain age, their bodies began to adapt to being like birds. Scales turned to feathers, and noses turned to beaks.

Ever notice that the Rito's beaks are very short, like they've been squashed or something? That's the remnants of their noses, because Zora noses weren't very long, so that has became a trademark of their beaks now that they're Rito.

But there is one big question that bugs me about the Zora to Rito thing (I'm not saying it's not true, because it's obviously true). Why did they dump their patron diety, Lord Jabu-Jabu (who is possibly Jabun), for a dragon? Surely, after hundreds of years of worshipping Jabu-Jabu, they weren't just going to say, "Oh, were birdies! That's get rid of the fish and have a dragon!".

'Nother question: If the Zora's are water loving, why didn't they thrive in the great sea? Possible answer: Hyrulean Zoras can only survive in freshwater, not saltwater. But then, wouldn't all the Terminan Zoras still be around? Because they survive in saltwater. Possible answer: Termina isn't real in Hyrule's dimension, Termina is Hyrule's double in another dimension, that Link somehow wandered into.

So this is what I think in a nutshell: Zoras get scales from Valoo after the great flood, evolve feathers and beaks to match wings, could no longer worship Jabu-Jabu as they weren't water based creatures anymore, then found the spirit of the skies, Valoo, whom they could now worship as they were bird people.

Then Jabu-Jabu went off to Greatfish Isle (possibly the top of Zora's Fountain? Because it was pretty high up in Hyrule) and changed his name to Jabun, so as to leave no connection with the world below him: Hyrule.

Re: Laruto-quote

I think the rito did not evolve/transform from zora at all, i think the zora are still out there in the ocean or something. Because Greatfish isle was destroyed and maybe the Zora once live on that island with Jabu-Jabu, but when the island was destroyed the zora and Jabu-Jabu went there seperate ways.If the rito did evolve from zora wouldnt one of the rito tell you?
