My first Theory
Ok, I'm new at this, hence the title, but I have a theory about what happens at the end of TP. I think that the Twilight takes over Hyrule, thus WW Hyrule. In order to destroy the Twilight, Link goes to fight Ganon. This battle ends when Ganon gets banished, but Link dies from his injuries, Zelda puts the Master Sword back in the Pedistal of Time, and the gods flood the land.

Re: My first Theory
That would be really sad...
But isn't the legend that Ganon isn't defeated? So I would think is that Link gets trapped in the Twilight as it disseapers and that Ganondorf is free to do what he wants untill Link dies of old age in the Twilight on which a new hero is born.

Re: My first Theory
Hhmmm, it's possible Greivous. I'm not sure about Link dying from his injuries though. I think he'll probably end up having to make some sort of sacrifice in this game...though I'm not sure what.
And "Illia Is Zelda", Ganon didn't flood hyrule it was the Gods who flooded Hyrule And the twilight turning to water is interesting, but unlikely...heh heh.

Re: My first Theory
Let's take a good, long look at this, shall we?
First of all, and I never can stress this enough, TP has a 0.0001% chance of being a game where the ending is the hero dying. The estimated time for playing through the main part of the game (no side quests) is 60+ hours. Plus, Zelda is not normally a game where there is an unhappy ending. I don't think Mr. Miyamoto would decide on a twist like that. No, if Link fails, he will not die. And if he does fail at all, he will come back and save the world. Making the situation look so bleak is a real suspense builder, so Link failing in part COULD be a good idea. Plus, if the grey-flooded Hyrule was the Twilight, then it wouldn't have dispersed when the Master Sword was pulled from its pedestal. Plus, In WW, it was hinted that the sword's magic was being used to create the time distortion (those enemies were frozen in place, remember?), as well as being part in the seal of Ganondorf's power. Anyway, I hope I've given your brain something to munch on for a while.

Re: My first Theory
Link will succeed, it's his destiny, his fate. You can still have an unhappy ending, though (Link dying or Hyrule flooding) also if Link dies, his decendants don't take his place, reincarnations of him do, so it's not that unhappy.

Re: My first Theory
lol but c'mon...As I've said thousands of times. You can't end a game like that.
You can only end the game like that when your going to release the squeal afterwards. But tWW has already happend. You can't just finish the game...And then you play tWW again. Just does not work like that. With that kind of ending it won't be better than OoT. They just won't do that.

Re: My first Theory
I'm guessing Link will succeed with what he has to do in this game, but that doing so will cause him to make some sort of considerable sacrifice. My best guess besides Link dying would that he becomes trapped in the Twilight, and can no longer regain his human form.

Nah, I think it'll be the fact that Midna can't live outside the Twilight, and since it receeds after Link kills Ganondorf (If thats what happens, it may not be the case,) she'll have to die too. Or turn into whatever item it is she becomes.

Re: My first Theory
I think that if this is actually the last zelda game than Ganon will definitely be in it. But everytime that link progresess in the game part of the twilight will start to dissapear. So I think that for the very last piece of the twilight you have to fight ganon. I also don't think that link will die because TP only falls somewhere in the timeline so I don't think he'll die.
