Thumbs up Wind Waker II Expectations (real Good Ones)

Here is my view on what the sequel to Wind Waker should be like. First of all, I expect Link to have a more mature look then he had in The Wind Waker. Also, the game should look a little darker and the difficulty in the game should be kicked up a few notches. I am also looking forward to a mysterious and exciting storyline which keeps me guessing. This new Zelda game should be all of what I mentioned and more. It should be a longer game and not so colorful(example- the menu's when you press start look a little childish at times). Nintendo can make a a cel-shaded game with dark effects like that of Ocarina of Time. There should be really good cut-scenes and BRING GANONDORF BACK! I loved his look in The Wind Waker! Make him stronger and more evil looking!

Re: Wind Waker II Expectations (real Good Ones)

Even though this is in the wrong forum, and there is an official topic on this in the right forum, I'll post my ideas here so that they'll get merged with the other thread (providing l-o-s/OldBeane/other merges the topics).

I think that the game will be great, as The Wind Waker was (back off, Darth Kirby), but there are things they need to improve.

Difficulty: The Wind Waker was much too easy. While some puzzles were slightly difficult, the battles were much too easy. The only time I had trouble was when I was fighting Puppet Ganon. He was a great boss. There should have been more of them.

Characters: The Wind Waker was great in the way it allowed you to solve people's problems, like the two lovers, etc. However, seeing something like Majora's Mask would be great, possibly using a day of the week system. It would give the game much more depth and replayability.

World: No more Great Sea. Sailing was exciting at first, but after the first few times, it got tedious, and now, after I've beaten the game twice, it's downright boring. They need to give Link a horse, as well as the Bunny Hood.

Items: Though the items in the game were great, I would like to see the return of a few, namely the Ice Rod, Fire Rod, Bug-Catching Net, and Deku (wooden) shield. The whole shield-being burned aspect of OoT added extra tension to the fighting.

Cucoos: 'Nuff said.

I like the pigs... I would like to see masks again and a week system like sear mentioned, I would also like to see harder bosses, not so much harder temples, yes, they were easy, but some can't handle it so.... maybe alot more extras, BUG NET IS A MUST! ^_^ the rods how ever I could live w/o.

Leave Ganondorf alone! He'll be back in a few years, just not now.

Re: Wind Waker II Expectations (real Good Ones)

difficulty: the ww was basically a joke kids...im sorry, it was a masterfully constructed game...but come on people...it def needs to be kicked up a couple of notches

world: gimme a descent overworld guys, c'mon, i would absolutely love, a massive overworld, along with a horse, and probably a bunny hood.

items: i guess the bow is prolly a must...but dont jip me and make me go collect EVARY SINGLE POWER UP for the arrows...just gimme the total package...i prolly wanna see a hook shot, and have it do all the stuff the grapling hook did. i could live w/o the rods i think...cuz think about it...the rods were never in the newest games, cuz they just powered up the arrows instead. i dont really need to control the wind again...psssh...the hammer was sort of cool i guess...in all , i would love to have a massive assortment of items (think of mm, allota thos masks did some cool stuff)

characters...i want an in your face bad guy...and killer boss fights
majora-*thumbs down* ganon, in WW psssh, he was a push over...BUT, he did make for a very original fight that i did find quite exhilerating

*IDEA*
what if they just drained the ocean...think of the massiveness of that overworld people(i would want it different from what we saw when we went under the waves though)...but wow that could be cool

You zinged me! I could use someone like you! How does a million dollars a year sound? You disgust me! Get out of my face!

...anyway, the difficulty definitely needs to be upped, the sea format should be scrapped, and as for the rest of Wind Waker's bad aspects, I'll suffice it to say they should wise up(just as a small one I may not have mentioned before, how can Ganon conjure a storm when his powers were supposedly sealed away by the Master Sword which is a nonsensical cop-out way to make Link feel responsible which is irrelevant because he never speaks?).

Re: Wind Waker II Expectations (real Good Ones)

This is in the wrong forum and there's already something like this. But anyways i think that they should make it a lot harder, and get rid of the Great sea for sure. Im so sick of it. If i was some powerful magic persn i'd drain it out....and the all the old stuff from OoT would appear

Ganondorf could conjure the storm because he still had some of hsis powers, they weren't all sealed by the master sword

Re: Wind Waker II Expectations (real Good Ones)

But he never even used his powers after that, aside from the flying and making a giant puppet. But he didn't need any of that to fulfill his plans. The whole Master Sword thing, as I said, was just a nonsensical cop-out to make Link feel responsible which is irrelevant because he never speaks. And not all of the emotions he shows are on-target, either; I don't know why he looked ready to vomit while Ganon was speaking before the climax. And the whole Master Sword thing never came up after Ganon mentioned it; it was nowhere near the sensical twist of Link having led Ganon to the Triforce in OOT.

Re: Wind Waker II Expectations (real Good Ones)

Well, that is debateable. It certainly was a good story, with an interesting twist at it's mid-point but the story slowed down too much near the end. I agree that the whole Master Sword thing was a bit tacked-on feeling, but everything else there seemed to fit well.
