OoT Collectors Edition: The Little Things

I played Oot of game cube and well, it will never compare to the N64 version. The little things are what helps make the game. Like whenever you saw a push/pull box it had that weird head shaped thing on it. They also took away the moon and three stars on the mirrior shield. It also sucked trying to play songs with the C joystick. What else didn't yall like about the Collectors Edition.

Re: OoT Collectors Edition: The Little Things

I've been playing OoT on Gamecube with the WW bonus disc. My only big issue is the ocarina with the C-Stick, and saving is just slightly more annoying. I haven't gotten to the Mirror Shield yet, so I don't know if it's changed on the Master Quest disc.

They did copy the data on the cart to the disk, so there are going to be some problems, it says that while it's loading. It is worth the money, it IS a COLLECTORS item.

Re: OoT Collectors Edition: The Little Things

I think it was about the same. It only had a few diferences. The push/pull thing. And saving, And so on. But the graphics were a bit better and stuff like that so I dought it is to bad.

Yes if you see the Collectors Edition at your local EB or what not then go ahead and buy it. Your right it is a collect able and still worth getting *I think*. I have the OoT and OoTMQ Collecters Edition. They are nice to have, but the little things they change are annoying.

The moon and the 3 stars are an Islamic symbol I believe...

Heh, I just have LoZ, AoL, OoT, and I will buy MM soon so I don't need no Collector's disk. And since my brother-in-law preordered the Wind Waker, he has the MQ. It's not really worth it if you already own all the games. Not to mention you can play LoZ and AoL if you have the gameboy player.

Re: OoT Collectors Edition: The Little Things

I don't think it would have been Islamic. Maybe Arabic but it's still not an excuse to change it. I haven't heard complaints or anything about it.

Re: OoT Collectors Edition: The Little Things

Well, Majora's Mask was way too glitchy, and combined with the MM ingenius (sarcasm) save system, it made my gaming experiance about twice as long. I would complete a temple, do all this stuff, and than my game would just freeze. The music is off too. Don't worry about the freeze thing, some people (most) have disks that rarely do that, I got unlucky. But what do you expect, they are fitting 2 3D games, and 2 2D games on one disk. I never played OoT on it b/c I had the collectors edition. The C stick was fun to use for the ocarina, but pressing A got annoting. I really prefer the X Y Z to the C buttons. Also the gfx are slightly inproved (there are no more obvious pixels jutting out of places). Next is to put it on the DS w00t! With the little DS thing being 1gb (yea, 1GB!!!) You could make OoT, MM, a link between them, and still probably have room for the Oracles!

You are correct. The moon and three stars thing was removed because of disputes with the Islamic community, as with the fire temple music (though this was much earlier on).

I didn't think the music was really off, nor was MM really glicthy for myself. However, my game did freeze just the once, whislt in Ikana Castle, as I shot a swining explosie mine in to a skulltula, cullminating in a large sudden explosion - thus the freeze occured. I had to do all the well again!

I also noticed that when ever you saved outside of a temple in the OoT collectors edition, you would always find youself in the treehouse. That got annoying.

Wasn't that how it worked in the original?

And if you play it on the bonus MQ disc, the Fire Temple chanting is still there. I have yet to reach the Spirit temple though, so I don't know about the Mirror Shield.

Wrong chanting. The MQ version doesn't have the original Fire Temple music. Tsukasa once uploaded the original MP3 onto a site, but it seems that the file's expired since then. If you ask him really nicely, then he may be able to get it for you.
The tune's still the same, but yes, it really does sound like a Muslim chant.

"Star and crescent," actually. There's only one star. And it is very much an Islamic symbol.

No in the original, if you saved say in in Kakariko or lon lon ranch then thats were you would start. So when you started the game all you did was walk into one of those places. In the OoT Collectors Edition, you would start right back at the Tree House

Re: OoT Collectors Edition: The Little Things

Little things like this have never really bothered me... I bought the game anyway and played it through a few times. But maybe that's only because I no longer own a Nintendo 64... It's worth it, if you ask me.
