The Light Arrow

Have you noticed that in most of the zelda games like in OOT or WW you don't get the light arrow until right near the end, which a shame considering what happens when you use it in WW, which would be pretty cool to use on the bigger enemies.

Re: The Light Arrow

Ya I already noticed that, If you get the light arrow in the beginning of the game then it would be to easy...

I don't mean at the start, somewher like about 3/4 of the way through, like in the spirit temple or the earth temple.

Re: The Light Arrow

Because that would take all the challenge out of the game. Which would you prefer; a long, challenging Twinrova fight, or one headshot with a Light Arrow to end it all straight away? Personally, I like to feel as though I've earned the Golden Arrows of Evil's Pwnage. I'm sure others do too.

Re: The Light Arrow

But ive dicovered something! I was recomended a cheat disk on the advice of my friend, where i got the light arrows earlier on in the game in OOT. It does the same amount of damage as a normal arrow in the game on bosses, which is pretty rubbish!

Obviously the game isn't going to give you the most powerful weapon until the end. That would make the game too easy and probably suck the fun right out of it. Not that they're that hard to begin with, but still.

I agree. There'd be no point in playing the game if you didn't have room for improvement, or room to develop your character as the game progresses.

Even though Zelda isn't an RPG, the concept would render RPG's pointless.

Re: The Light Arrow

It would be way too easy getting the light arrows even towards like the last temples or levels in the game, I mean even with the Iron Knights (someone correct me on that ), it's just one shot kill, and magic jars are hardly scarce in WW are they? And you get a certain satisfaction beating the living daylights out of Ganon with them which you can never get with any other boss or enemy.

Re: The Light Arrow

The light arrows in OoT arent amazing but there good. In the windwaker they are a bit too far with the fact you shoot one at an enemy and they are dead, especially Phantom Ganon, who I loved fighting.

Re: The Light Arrow

I'm bored of the Light, Ice, and Fire arrows. I'd rather have three completely seperate items that fulfill their roles.

Such as rods, for example? It would be neat to see something new, but I think that arrows control better and allow for just as many possibilities. And, now that you can switch arrow types on the fly (R button in WW), they are very intuitive.

Re: The Light Arrow

Using the light arrow is sorta like using a gameshark in the beggining of the game. GAmes are not fun that way. I only use it when its required!

Thumbs up change

i think that the arrows are getting a little boreing, i think they should change them. Actually they should change other things in zelda. i mean, the games are great yes, but i have to atmmit it, after ocarina there hasnt been any innovation in the games. But i think this will soon change. With the mind of Miyamoto and the capacity of the revolution im shure that zelda will be a much greater game [color=Yellow]

Re: The Light Arrow

The Light arrow has always been a weapon which helps take down the final boss(Along with the master sword of course ) Also it kills normal enemys in 1 hit which means 1 second fights which means you get bored playing in a matter of 1 seconds lol

Thumbs up

Really the light arrow is the archer's equivalent to the master sword
so you don't get it until the end big deal
it really doesn't help that much its like inflation
product price goes up and fiscal price goes up
samething with the games
enemies get harder and your arsenal gets more powerful
yea it would help in the beginning of the game but that ruins the whole experience

Re: The Light Arrow

The Light Arrows in OoT are crummy. The Light Arrows (and the Ice Arrows too, for that matter) in MM rule. If you use 'em on undead enemies (i.e. Blue Bubbles) you'll get a purple rupee (worth 50). You can score a lot of cash that way.

Once, I used cheat codes in WW and got the Light Arrows early. I cleared all the dungeons by using 'em, but I found out the Light Arrows aren't strong enough to take out the bosses (I used the Light Arrows during my fight with Gohma and he didn't die immediantly when I used 'em on him).

Re: The Light Arrow

It wasn't programmed into the game. Why would the programmers go through the trouble of making the early bosses react to a weapon that you don't get until the very end?

This is the same as trying to beat Queen gohma in OoT with a boomerang, or the fairy bow. You simply can't get these weapons legally before the boss, so there's no point in programming their use into the boss battle.
