Seriously, what happened to Dekus?

What happened to them when the big flood came? Did they all die out? I really hope they didn't, cause if the did... then why are the Gorons still alive?! Deku scrubs were awesome and should have come back... strange thing is... the Kokiri are kind of like Dekus in the new forest. Weird.

The gorons lived on so why not the dekus!?

Maybe they can only survie in forests and since there is a lack of forests in the flooded world they just couldn't survive.

Actually, I never thought of THAT, Twilight Princess Deku Scrubs... sounds awesome to me, what with the realistic style. They're gonna like so much cooler, but Gorons are guarenteed... I think, cause you can see one fighting/sparring Link for like a second in the trailer. Maybe Zora too. But Dekus are a must.

Oh wow, I never thought about that. Hehe, I never gave the deku's much thought either. (They annoyed me in MM XD)

I think it's odd that the Zora weren't in tWW at all. I've heard arguments that they evolved into the Rito, but I don't see why they wouldn't be able to live in the Great Sea. Since it was a product of rain, I assume it's not salt water...

Even if it wasn't salt to begin with, it would have turned into salt water due to the vastness and land erosion. Minerals are what give sea water the salty taste.

Well, the Dekus seem to be connected to the ground in a way that no other race/enemy is. So, I would think that they rode out the flood at the bottom of the forming Great Sea, hanging on for their little lives in their plant homes.

Even if they did make it they wouldn't suvive, due to the fact that there isn't any ground to be had almost anywhere, and a severe shortage of deku nuts.

Yeah, those Deku Scrubs can get really annoying. . . especially the Business Scrubs and the Mad Nuts.

Even if the Deku Scrubs escaped from the flood, they could've taken shelter at the Forest Haven, right? The Koroks might've been kind enough to let them live with them. I don't see why Nintendo left them out of Wind Waker. . . . Perhaps Nintendo got enough fan letters saying they hated the Deku Scrubs and so Nintendo left them out via that purpose.

I doubt it. They came back in TMC, so maybe Nintendo just couldn't find a good way to make them fit the atmosphere of tWW.

Climbing to the tops of mountains, probably. After all, didn't the goddesses tell some people to do that?

Not really. Gorons live in mountains. Dekus do not. The only mountain Dekus I ever remember coming across were business scrubs.

As Deku Link, you couldn't swim, they sank easily. That's probably the way the Dekus went.

And, as for the Gorons, they were mountain people, so they were able to climb the mountains. The reason there are three is probably because they set up trading posts and traveled to different lands.

What other explanation could there be?

I say good ridance. I hated Deku Scrubs and I hated being one in MM. They can't swim they can't punch. All they do is blow bubbles, dance, and try to scam you out of your hard earned rupees. Wow I just looked up the word rupees and at wikipedia.org in the definition they say rupees are also the unit of currency in the Legend of Zelda.

Well yes, but regular people weren't "mountain" people like the gorons but they still went up the mountains, so it still isn't explained where the dekus went. Just because they don't live up there doesn't mean they didn't go up.

Oh and... gorons suck! They can't swim either! At least Dekus could hop over it, unlike lazy gorons.
