Question Family Ties in TWW

I'm a bit confused here, from what I could scrap from my own knowledge on the game I was wondering Is the Link from TWW (Hero of Winds) the direct ancestor of the Hero of Time mentioned in the entry story?. If he is, does this means that the Hero of Time Link got married and had children? If this is so, who would he had children with and why was it that person?.

I have found a number of things that ties the HoW to HoT but it isn't much:
1. "This is the only world that your ancestors
were able to leave you." this is mentioned by the King.
2. The Hero's shield was Link's family heirloom

I am probably wrong and all but I just wanted to get everyone elses opinion on the ancestory of the Hero of Time, and help provide information.

Well no, because KORL said "No, he's not connected to the legendary one" or somthing like that when he's talking to Jabun.

Actually, Hylian Z raises an interesting point with the shield thing. Granny says it's the "family shield", and the Hero of Time apparently used it. Although the quote from KoRL is also true. Nintendo truly phail at continuity.

Just because he had an ancestor who was around before the flood it doesn't mean it is the Hero of Time.

I doubt that they are related at all, it seem very unlikely.

And besides, 'The Legendary Shield' you could buy at Bazaar's for 80R, 40R if you talked to the guard or free in a grotto in Ocarina of Time...but its still a relatively bad slip up.

Jabun: Well met, Hyrule King!
King of Red Lions: Well met indeed, Jabun. I am pleased to see that you are
safe...
Jabun: The evens which we have long feared seem to have been set into motion.
King of Red Lions: Yes. It seems that Ganon has returned. There can be no
other explanation.
Jabun: If you have sought me out... it must mean you have found the Hero of
Time, does it not?
King of Red Lions: Unfortunately, that is not so.
Jabun: Then for what purpose have you come to see me?
King of Red Lions: The one I have brought with me has no connection to the
legendary one. And yet I sense great promise in the courage that this one
possesses.
This conversation with Jabun and the KoRL proves that this new Hero has no connection to the Hero of Time. But it seems something else contradicts that. Once you acquire the Hero's Shield the narration reveals that:

Quote:
You've got the Hero's Shield! This is the legendary shield said to
have been used by the legendary hero himself.
So it seems although he doesnt have no connection to the Hero of Time, Link's family must have come into possession of this shield in some way. But there is no proof to work from to justify this, so it seems its yet again another of Zelda's mysteries which requires further elaboration and speculation.

Re: Family Ties in TWW

Hmm... when you first visit Grandma, and she gives you the green tunic and starts talking about traditions, she says

"In the olden days, this was the day boys
were finally considered to be men. They
were taught the ways of the sword to
prepare them for battle with their enemies.

But we don't live in such an age any
longer... Our ways are the ways of peace.

Nowadays, I suppose Orca is the only one
on the island who still knows anything
about swordplay.

Hanging the family shield on the wall as
decoration is another tradition that has
been carried down from those days."

So, yes, the shield belonged to Link's ancestors. It seems to be the case. However...

Quote:

It's highly possible that the shield isn't the shield of the Hero of Time. That's just what people say about it.

Or, if it is the hero's shield, maybe some ancestor of WW Link was a collector of shields, and he paid high money for that thing. (Because, hey, who wouldn't want the shield of the legendary hero? ) And then it became the family shield... maybe.

Have you noticed the great DIFFERENCE between the shields in OoT and TWW, anyway I can see what you mean by it, as in it was a common item

Wrong, no it doesn't, it just means that TWW Link isn't the hero of Time, it doesnt prove that he isn't OoT Link's ancestor. All it proves is that he isn't the Hero of Time.

but did any of you guys come to think, "What if he was connected to OoT Link"

Oh! What is this? There, on your hand--the
Triforce piece now dwells within you!

It is the Triforce of Courage--proof
that you are indeed the true hero.

You have controlled the wind and crossed
the seas, and here, near the end of your
quest, the power of the gods has been
bestowed upon you...

Surely, from this moment on, you shall be
known as the Hero of Winds...

Link! Hero of Winds!
No, he's simply saying that Link is the true hero of this age, the Hero of Winds. There is still no remark about Link having any connection to the Hero of Time.

EDIT:

Ganondorf says something really interesting though... after you defeat his puppets, and he heads to the very top of the tower, he says

Quote:
Yes, surely you are the Hero of Time,
reborn...

Your time has come...

Come now... Stand before me!
Kinda interesting...
