Story Theory
I've been looking at multiple views, Ideas, footage of the game, as well as official news soI could figure out the storyline of Twilight Princess, and as a result I think I have a basic idea as to how the beginning of the game's will go.
After some sort of short cinimatic showing off the backstory of the game, The game will start with Link in his house. Illia and Colin will wake Link up and remind him he has to go to work, and about his role as the representitive of the villiage for the Hyrulian summit, so he goes to the goat ranch and does his thing with the goats (So that the player will become familiar with horseback riding. When he finishes leaves the ranch, He'll have to jump with Epona over the fence, as per Fado's request, despite his promise to his friend Illia (this promise is only mentioned here and is obviously an event that occurs before the game starts.) When he enters the villiage again, He's greeted by Illia and the mayor. Illia gets mad at Link for jumping the fence, so she takes Epona away. At this point, a goat charges at you and you have to stop it. Depending on how you react to this situation, the Mayor will give you a talk on either doing a good job, or on remembering to be an adult. At this point Link is free to go about the town. Eventually, when you want the game to progress, Link's friend Colin will tell Link he saw Illia taking Epona to the local healing fountain. He says he can take Link to the fountain, as long as Link can help him get past the local bullies first. While Link is teaching the bullies how to use a sword, Colin escapes and makes his way into the forest. (Colin dosen't really like swordfighting, anyways.) After the sword tutorial, Link follows Colin into the woods, where Link has to follow him through the forest to where the secret entrance to the fountain is. When Link gets there, Epona, Illia, and Colin are all there. Epona's fully healed now. Illia burushes off the whole incident with Epona getting injured and asks Link to be careful on his journey. This is when the Bokoblin king and his cronies attack, kidnapping both Illia and Colin, and scaring off Epona. Link tries to save them but is knocked out by a Bokoblin. The Bokoblin king looks around, and recognises the shape of the fountain. (My guess is that he's been shown this location by whoever the villian is in the game.) He then uses his horn to summon a Twilight Portal. (I'm guessing that the main villian is trying to open up as many portals as possible. THe reason why he/she/it/they sent the Bokoblins to the fountain is because that's where the portal was, and the Bokoblin's job was simply to open it in order to make the Twilight Realm spread.) After the Bokoblins ride away, Link wakes up fully healed of his bump to the head thanks to the fountain's healing properties. He runs after the bokoblins only to get sucked into the Twilight Realm. This is where It's mostly educated guesses. Link suddenly transforms into the wolf after being brought into the twilight realm. He's unable to control the animal within him and goes wild, causing chaos throught the Twilight Realm. He is soon captured by the creatueres of the twilight, and brought to the castle (The big one we keep seing in the trailers.) Feral Link is brought before the Royal Family. Apperently, the people inside the castle are immune for the time being by the effects of the Twilight Realm. The King demands that Link is put into the dungeouns, for fear he will endanger the lives of others. Before he is taken away, Link sees Princess Zelda in her cloak, looking out the window. In the dungeouns, Link tries to get out of his chains. Suddenly, he becomes aware that there is another person in the cage with him-Midna. She was thrown in for causing trouble as well. Link questions Midna about the princess, and she tells him that Zelda is wearing that dark claock because she's become full of dispair, and is mourning for Hyrule as it is slowly swallowed by the Twilight Realm. Midna also knows about the Bokoblin's plan, and will tell you who the main villian is. His/Her/It's/Their goal is to spread the Twilight furhter by opening up more of the Twilight Protals, which can only be opend at specific locations. Link has to close them off somehow. Midna agrees to help Link escape, because he's her ticket out of the dungeouns. They make their way through the dungeouns, where Link begins noticing things he wasn't able to notice before-As a wolf, he can now see things that he wasn't able to see before-the "Ghosts" that are now haunting the dunegouns as a result of the Twilight Realm's power. He also begins to smell a way out. (It is visible while using Feral Link's powers as a trail of green mist in the air, a la the 2nd trailer.) Eventually, they make it out of the castle. Midna intoruces her abilities, which work with Feral Link's powers, in order for them to stop any Twilight Creatures in their path. Just before Link is able to finally leave the Twilight, Midna give Link an item of some sort that will allow Link to be in contact with her. When Link finally leaves the Twilight Realm, He goes back to the villiage in order to Find Epona. By now, it's much too late for him to attend the Hyrulian summit. As a result of this, tensions begin to rise among the other tribes of Hyrule. Link's got his objectives now. He has to find the Bokoblin King and stop him from spreading more Twilight Portals. And wherever he is, That's surely where he'll find Colin and Illia... At this point, Link will somehow obtain his Tunic. He'll head back to the villiage, because he needs a sword (Remember, there's a guy in the villiage who keeps daring Link to grab he sword off his back?) However, it's now a part of the Twilight Realm, so he'll turn back into a wolf. (Hence the scene where Link turns into a wolf in the 3rd trailer, and also the reason why he has no sword in that scene) Midna will join him, until Link gets the sword, and then Link will leave so that he can stop the Portals. Somehow, stopping the portals involves traveling to the temples in Hyrule. He'll go to them in order to stop the portals. He'll go to the Forest Temple first. After the forest temple, He'll go to the Town shown in the most recent screenshots, in order to get more information. He'll go to a fire temple (as seen in the 2nd trailer) after that, where he'll find that the Gorons are being controlled by creatures of the Twilight. He'll battle the boss seen in the 1st trailer, freeing the Gorons and stopping the creation of another Portal. Sometime later, I believe he'll go to an ocean temple. (In one of the most recent screenshots, it hows Link swimming in what appears to be a coral reef. Zoras, anyone?) Sometime after these events, Link will hear information in the town about a sighting of the Bokoblin King. He'll go that part of the overworld, and that'll be the horseback battle. Link only finds Colin, though. Illia is still somewhere out there. So what do you think?

Re: Story Theory
Well its a great idea and a pretty nice storyline. But why does Link have to go into Temples. Such as the Forest and Water Temple?
I mean you have only covered the Twilight Realm.... I can see TP having a massive twisting storyline. Which makes it all the more better. Good theory though, I think your pretty close with the Twilight timeline. But when Links transforms into the Wolf he has his Tunic. When he gets pulled in... He has his Farmers chothes on. There must be a gap somewhere between there.

Re: Story Theory
That your theories go against many of the observations I've made. Hovever, I will not complain about this post further... It's all guesses and the such. However, I cannot see what this thread inspires...
So I would like to make a few corrections to the parts we DO know about. Firstly, did you look at the faces of the Moblin King when the portal appeared? They were scared and dumbfounded by it. They weren't working for whoever was the one doing it, that much, at least, is for certain. Secondly, yes, Link sees zelda, but not in that fashion that you predict. Midna takes you to her... At least it was mentioned in one interview or another. Thirdly, the Twilight is COVERING Hyrule, so all of those who were planning to attend the Hyrule summit could not. Therefore, Link missing it is not possible when it never started in the first place. Fourthly (is that a word?), In the last released trailer, ghosts suddenly appear in front of Link and Midna, hinting that he is not the one who made the ghosts visible, seeing as even Midna seems surprised. I'm sure there's a few more, but I don't feel up to correcting them right now...

I did look closley at the Bokoblin King's face. Before he blows the horn, he looks around, recognising the place, and he smiles. THen he blows the horn, makes the portal appear, and then looks at it, not dumbfounded, but more like, "Good, that's done and over with." I anticipated that there would be some faults with my theory, and I think that Midna taking Link to see Zelda could take place after they escape from the dunegouns. They could sneak back, and see Zelda, who would tell them more, probably. As for your third point, Yes, the Twilight Realm is spreading, but I don't think it's spread that far yet. I think at the beginning, it's only covering a small part, and as the game goes on, more and more will be covered up. Finally, on your fourth point, Midna could suddenly be startled because Link just noticed that there are ghost rats chewing on him. And yeah, I think Fourthly is a word. I'll have to check, though...
