Deku Tree and Gerudos

Since I have two spoiler type things I'd like to discuss, I thought I'd put them into one thread to save space. I'll talk about the Deku Tree first.

Well, TP takes place only a few decades after OoT for what we know now, right? Obviously, the Great Deku Tree that we met near the end of OoT and in TWW must appear in this game. While talking with a friend, we speculated that perhaps that big creature resemblinb Doshin the Giant in that wood area in the first trailer could be the Deku Tree...with arms and legs. I mean, that creature is definitely part tree, so why can't it be the Deku tree? The only problem I find with this theory is how he grew limbs, but lost them before TWW takes place. What are your thoughts?

As for the Gerudo part of my thread. While watching one of the trailers, in the scene where Link battled those skeleton dogs in a graveyard, I noticed one of the headstones had some writing on it. I froze the frame on that spot, looked for a Hylian language translater thing on the internet, and tried to decipher it. The trailer I was watching was pretty bad quality so I couldn't get it all, but I found that it was definitely Gerudo language. Could this prove that Gerudos will in fact appear in the Twilight Princess?

Discuss.

Re: Deku Tree and Gerudos

I didn't know the Gerudos had a special language. Where did you find that out?

I have no doubt that the Deku Tree from WW may appear in this game. I think that wood creature, through,is entirely different. Probably just a Forest Spirit helping Link, But you could still be correct with your theory.

Re: Deku Tree and Gerudos

I can't remember the website...I googled "Hyrule languages". It had some Gerudo characters, and the letters I could see on the headstone were Gerudo.
I couldn't determine what the stone said, though...

Re: Deku Tree and Gerudos

Hylian's have a different language but they speak english in the game, don't they? It's just Gerudo writing and characters, so they might not actually speak it anymore...

Anyways, try googling "gerudo languages". The first site shows the characters in the language. I'm not sure if that's the same site I used, though.

Well, the Gerudo 'language' is on the tablets in the first room of the Spirit temple, if nowhere else.

Well, whatever it is, it isn't an ememy or else there wouldn't have been humming birds surrounding it.

The idea of that being the Deku tree is hard to beleive though. There's just too much physical contrast.

Hmmm... perhaps we're looking at a new race?

Well, there was something like that in the WW, although I'm not sure if it was Gerudo...
(Phantom Gannon's sword said "Kohume and Kotake" on it.)

What makes you say that, just because he is the color of the tree? Don't judge a book by its cover -^. No, I do not think that the giant thing we saw was part tree, much less the Great Deku Tree himself. Perhaps Link will meet the Deku Tree somewhere along the line, but I think the most likely explanation for that thing is that its one of the strange creatures that roams the forest... or some sort of odd advisor. The latter is far more unlikely, of course .

As for Gerudo appearing, its a very distict possibility, unless they somehow got wiped out between Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time. But I would be interested in the Hylian Language translation thing that you speak of. Provide a link, and it may become more distict to everyone besides you.

Re: Deku Tree and Gerudos

Hmmm... I can say that a moving Deku Tree just doesn't fit. Probably just a forest spirit like the LoZ version of the Ents from the LOTR. Gerudo symbols appear in many bizarre places in OoT, but it may be that this is a Geruda graveyard.

Re: Deku Tree and Gerudos

About different languages, if it's the same website I went to. The guy says at the bottom that "These alphabets are fully created by myself and are ment for fun" So, they're fake. But the graves are Hylian, and If you use a "real" alphabet it's still comes out in Hylian, but in English letters and now you can prononce it. I'll give you an example, I tried it and this is what I got. Heiake no umi ____ ____. I didn't get the rest, but it's sounds Hylian. When you hear the King talk it sounds like kinda like that.

Well, from the looks of it, he's made of wood and has leaves coming off of him...But the idea that he's some sort of forest spirit does make sense.

Anyways, the site at the top of the google list when searching "gerudo languages" wasn't the site I used at first. I can't find the site now, but when I do, I'm definitely linking to it for you guys to see.
Does anyone have a hi-def version of the trailer, so I can possibly see all of the writing on the stone?

Re: Deku Tree and Gerudos

I totally agree with luigi on the deku tree.... i mean what could it possibly be other then the great deku tree, and if you noticed when your playing the WW the kokiri tree looking children had walking legs of their own. since this game has to do with twilight then maybe the great deku tree gains the ability to walk around. hes an older versoin of the deku tree sprot off the Oot.

Its more of one of those sipn off things they did but some actual spent the time workin out the text and placin it to Races in OoT was funny to check threw but im not sure if it entrily accuarte i may be wrong some years since i checked it.

Gannon is in TP so youd expect the Gerudos to be init some were along they way.

As for the Deku Tree it would make sence for the Deku Sprout maybe grown onto to tree to be in the game who knows would fit the time line if he was in we will just have to wait and see.

Re: Deku Tree and Gerudos

i think the giant grassy thing is, maybe a cursed big man that was trying to get somewhere but was cursed and turned to stone?(i really think that looks like stone with grass on it) or maybe just an overgrown statue from a past civilisation.

And about that thing with gerudos... I will kill someone if they arent in it!!! -Noooooot so realistic words from the othervise wise prophet of Anarand

It doesn't really matter, the words come out in Japanese.

As for the tree, I think that is a forest spirit. The Gerudos, it is a very big possibility. I would like to see them with the new TP graphics. Makes me wonder what Ganondorf will look like...
I'm sure it'll be amazing.

Oh, really? That stinks...Well, nonetheless, this just proves that Gerudos are in the game somehow, whether you see them, or they're just dead bodies in a graveyard.
I can't wait to see Ganondorf, either. I hope he looks similar to OoT's Ganondorf, though, since he was much more fierce looking. Oh, and he should have a beard.
